Looking for some decent wireless in ear headphones that are not physically connected to each other.
Normal shit, or chink shit.
These will be used to listen music at work, and cycling. I don't want to any wires, and at least 5 hours of use.
Thanks

Your headphones are already better than most headphones in the under $300 category and any upgrades you'll find in this price category will be extremely slight upgrades and honestly not worth the money. Be aware that headphone frequency response, which is responsible for nearly all of the perceived audio quality of a headphone, has no correlation with price: http://asa.scitation.org/doi/full/10.1121/1.4984044
You will need to spend $300 on an HD600 to obtain a significant sonic upgrade over your HD558. If you cannot afford that now, just stick with your HD558 until you can.
You should do research outside of /hpg/ which is heavily shitposted, trolled and samefagged as of late, particularly when any Sennheiser headphones are discussed.

Yes, Yes, Yes and Yes. Now go out and read up on the respective sound signatures (or, better yet, go to a store, show or meet up to demo them in person) before you drop A LOT of money. Also, you may not want the TOTL(s) of each of those respective companies if the sound signature of a lower-priced model may suit your taste more. With those companies, it's less "sound quality" and more "sound signature and individual pro/cons that refine the already luscious sound". Seriously though, do your homework before you spend dat money.

where's the point of diminishing returns / plateau for IEMs? I want to get SE215s and I wonder if I should spend a bit less or more.
This is coming from a guy with only $200 to $500 headphones unless you count my $30 disposable "sweat-proof" in-ear phones for gym/running use.

The point of diminishing returns with IEMs is very similar to headphones in the sense that $250-400 will get you top tier performance and everything more than that will give you extremely marginal improvements but nothing groundbreaking.

I know llsif uses ogg-vorbis, with the songs downsampled at 32KHz. I don't remember bitrate.
I don't know about deresute/mirishita.
If they were sane, they'd just all use opus at 128kbit/s or more.
Vorbis has some popularity in Japan, I've seen lots of games use it. Probably to avoid AAC licensing nonsense. I haven't seen OPUS used yet; Likely too new for them to notice.

$20 in foam and $10 can of spray adhesive. Another $40 for bass traps if you absolutely need it.
>>61822260
Not sure why you got that over the Fulla 2, particularly since you went for the basic modi, and you don't even have a magni to stack it with, so the form factor shouldn't have mattered.
>cables
They assume you have them. RCA and usb A-B is pretty standard.
But they do sell the PYST (put your schiit together) cables. I got mine with the stack.
>>61843455
I'd also like to mention that because of the advances in digital recording technologies, anyone with a few sub $100 microphones, an acoustically treated room, a computer and an audio interface can record an entire album in high fidelity fashion.
>>61843408
Sorry anon, but I have to ask you this; do you truly believe your five (5) graphs saved in your personal computer are the only five (5) graphs on the Internet that aren't "poorly sealed"? Do you truly believe this, anon?
>>61843597
>few microphones

>>61843531
Oh, my mistake, that's actually a picture of the multibit one. This is what you pay $100 for, no cables included apparently
>>61843694
>less components to get between you and your music
better obviously
why doesn't the Oppo PM3 have replacement earpads available online? I want a planar magnetic for c l e a n b a s s, but Hifiman or the M1060 is not an option because of build quality issues, and the Oppo PM3 is the best option I've found so far around this price range if I want planar magnetic AND something that's not going to break apart after a couple years without babying it.
but no replacement earpads is as bad as attached cables.
>>61843750
Because the pads aren't replaceable
If I get the magni 2 plus a 300 ohm headphone
How do I know if I will need an external DAC?
>>61843893

>>61843726
Be sure to buy your other shit box so you can stack shit, with more cables not included, good goy
>>61843893
if you have a good mobo and a good case (if you're plugging in from the front), chances are a DAC is just placebo.
i don't hear a difference
>>61843972
>Thinks I'm Modi guy
Nope. I'm actually ES9018 Sabre32 guy. Anecdotally, they made the speech in Ghostbusters, Impossible Mission and Beach Head on the C64 back in the 80s.
>>61842150
Can someone help me figure out what this anon is talking about? The er4/sr/xr is my dream headphone but $349 isn't going to be realistic for me for a long time.
I've found multiple impedance adapters on ebay with etymotic in the title. What specific one do I need to do this with the HF5?
There is one from ety themselves for $50, seems like a rip off.
"Etymotic ER4P to ER4S (3.5MM plug)resistor adaptor" on US ebay for $15 but why would that work with the hf5?
Then "ETYMOTIC ER4P TO ER4S RESISTOR ADAPTOR (3.5MM PLUG)" US ebay with 80 sales.
So the hf5 uses the same driver and lowering the resistance makes them sound like the er4?
>>61843447
This graph is properly sealed in the bass and shows that 30hz is on par with 1khz, which is astoundingly flat. However, the treble is not accurate, likely due to the coupler used.
is it dumb that I want to get the HE4XX just so I have something to pair the HD6XX on display? They match colors.
>>61844082
>Anon unironically believes his five graphs are the only true graph
heh
>>61843553
>Plenty of higher end speakers, even mid tier ones, have much better treble reproduction than any headphone outside of electrostatic cans.
No, high frequencies dissipate faster in the air than lower ones and headphones have much easier time with them then speakers.
>Meme term used by headphone fags to justify Sennheiser veil and poor fqr measurements
Headphone do have better detail retrieval due to the signal and sound waves no losing any of their energy passing through air. There is a reason why headphones are used by sound engineers and musicians even after mixing and mastering songs on speakers.
>>61844154
This graph also shows that despite the poor seal, the HD600 extends very low with 40hz on par with 1Khz.
>>61844181
>Despite the very poor seal
You're almost there to acceptance, anon
>>61844202
This graph also shows excellent linearity and extension for a dynamic. Again, 35hz is equal to 1khz. And this despite the poor seal. It's no wonder Tyll gives his unreserved praise for this headphone.
hd600 has weak bass and even weaker subbass, my ears say so

This is a unrepresentative graph due to the measuring system used - it uses a coupler as opposed to a proper HATS.

HF5 is basically an ER4P without detachable cable and driver matching, IIRC. ER4P to ER4S adapter will work for HF5 and turn it into an "ER4S." It will also lower the volume by adding 75 ohms of impedance.
Is the tripfaggot still samefag spamming poorly sealed HD600 graphs as anon? That shitposting has been debunked too many times.

It's a good thing you only need to listen to HD600 to know it is a robust and pellucid treasure with balanced, euphonic sound, lush, elegant comfort and stalwart, unyielding build quality.
I EQ'd my shp9500s to get a bit more bass out of them and that did work but its not enough for me.
I am basically looking for SHP9500s with better midrange and bass.

>>61846434
CB-1 if you don't plan on replacing the MDR's disgusting pads
So my chinkshit parcel arrived with a pair of Xiaomi Hybrid 3's and KZ ZS5s
They both destroy my old pair of Etymotic HF5's in terms of SQ.
They are fantasic value.
>>61846506
Have fun, anon!
>>61846472
I could also replace the cable with something more practical without having to maim/mod it.
But like, if I *did* do all that to the 7506, would they be the better of the two? Or would it not be worth it?
>>61846572
Longevity wins hands down with the MDRs. If you don't plan on upgrading anytime soon, then they are already worth more than the CB-1s and it's iffy build quality. Just be ready to replace those pads though; those don't last that long from my experience. Both are nice headphones for the price, but the MDRs will last longer
