Already bought it.

Cooler Master HAF XB Evo.

Ready to mod a full loop with dual 360mm radiators, a 240mm in the front, and a single NFA-20 blowing down on everything and a dual pump drive bay reservoir with either dual Quaddro or Vegas and a raid card with dual 10gb Ethernet card.

Even the Ryzen 3 would be an upgrade. It performs almost on par with 8 Core FX on Multi threaded loads, so anything above that absolutely BTFOs it.

Fx 6300 is still good enough for daily use. If i were you i'd wait it out a few years till ddr 5 comes out. (2-3 years from now) Or if you plan to upgrade wait 6 months from now so the ddr prices drop. If you buy it now you're just basicly getting ripped off.
>>
>>61818954
Had 6300, bought 1700, clocked to 3.9 stable and it absolutely murders the 6300 in everything. Games run smoothly, intellij is indexing java code and libs much faster, I can export my recordings into different formats faster and so on.

Yeah, it's especially good when the card shits itself and your data is gone unless you manage to find an identical spare. It's also awesome when one of your HDDs suffers corruption and silently fucks your array with little way to recover. I mean, who would want a software solution which safeguards the integrity of your data and can be reassembled on any PC you connect the drives to?

They always were. The 1541 floppy drive for the Commodore 64 cost just as much as the Commodore 64, and those floppy drives were cheaper than floppy drives for other machines.

Kicking intel out of my most prominent case and putting threadripper in. I have like 5 computers total though... The case with the most airflow gets the threadripper. My shintel build that doesn't need it moves to a more comfy case and gets linked into the party

Sir, a lot of these cases these days are half transparent plastic or tempered glass. Transparent plastic gets fucked up if you look at it the wrong way. Tempered glass explodes into component-ruining shards if it gets damaged.

I just want a box.

Better question: What power supply are you going to buy to power your overclocked threadripper and vega64s?

Corsair 1500W 80+TITANIUM?
Dual PSUs?

Already have a gorgeous Evolv ATX TG it would fit perfect in, but if I had to choose now? Shift X if I can shoehorn an EATX (or go with the MSI board if forced to). Level 20 from Themaltake whenever that's available and I came into a lot of money.

We got great cases now and one beast of CPU, but the X399 board selection really needs to improve. More options from Asus and MSI would be great. A version of pic related for X399 is my fetish,
>>
>>61830115
If you were running an overclocked i9 you'd probably have to run triple PSUs.

There is a 12 core at $800 and 16 core at $1000. If that's still out of your budget some cheaper version should be appearing eventually.
