Woah there, m8. There are some things called "limits".
>>61814518
this is:
1. fucking retarded because you compromised the security in your companies network
2. pretty much what everyone kid with some computer knowledge did in school
>>61815757
>Opening a port on a remote box compromised the security of the local network
Fuck off retard
>>61815757
>creating an SSH server in school
Damn, I didn't know Einstein was in this thread.
>>61815774
no, but accessing sites exploiting browser vulns, vulns in image libraries, etc does. and OP sounds retarded enough to do that.
>>61815863
well, at least i can read, unlike you.
>>61815883
Yeah people are going to be burning browser 0day on op because he has a vpn
Lmao shut the fuck up
>>61815883
wtf I hate 4chan now
>>61815902
ok kid
>>61814531
This is a blue board.
>>61815914
never heard of ads serving malware and exploiting JS bugs ?
>>61815988
Gaining execution from js in a sandboxed browser is an exploit worth 200k+ usd
Being on a vpn doesn't make you more vulnerable
Nobody is burning real 0 day on random retards
>>61816017
>vpn
why are you even talking about vpns ?
>>61815988
By that point I could be getting 0days from literally anything, only reason 4chan is blocked is because it is registered to have sexual material
>>61816017
what makes you think the companies workstations don't run windows xp with IE ?
>>61815988
People don't understand the ad networks out there man. OP is playing "online vidya" and is asking for it.
>>61816035
You brought up that ssh tunneling out somehow weakens security, don't try to argue semantics about the differences between a vpn and she tunnel
>>61816063
Then that's what makes their Network insecure, not him visiting 4chan
>Person I dislike asks me to install Windows on his computer
>I oblige because he's enslaving himself with this proprietary operating system
>The whole time I'm installing Windows on his computer I have this shit-eating grin on my face
>I finish and he thanks me, not knowing that he's under the subjugation of Microsoft while I use a free operating system on my computer!
>>61816099
lol you showed him
>>>61814518
>this is:
>1. fucking retarded because you compromised the security in your companies network
Why is that retarded?
It isn't his company. Gotta make a little work for yourself to justify the paycheck. Fuck, I'd open all the ports and drop the firewall and blame it on the intern.
>>61816066
As said here >>61816061 if ads were a problem then I'd be vulnerable no matter what, most of the sites are available except stuff like 4chan and that's only because of the nsfw boards.
>use firefox through the ssh tunnel for 4chan only
>use chrome for everything else
So what's the problem here?
And the online vidya is only tunneled because the login server uses a non-standard port
>>61816231
do you work for HBO ?
>>61816231
Well for one, you're at the whim of ad networks, period. Their models consist of affiliates with ads that could jump into rotation on a seemingly normal placement at any time. Nothing stops a slav furry spammer from one day creating a worm payload that can be instantly distributed across numerous placements. A good example of this is shit you see on Pornhub from time to time.
This is also nothing new, and is why these practices are in place. What you /should/ be doing with your downtime is improving your skillset or drinking more water.
>>61816358
Nothing except the fact that browser exploitation is extremely hard
But sure he's got a fully weaponized 0day that he's going to burn on pornhub ads and nowhere else
>order a happy meal
>havent been happy in 7 years
>>61816483
>browser exploitation is extremely hard
Not impossible either. Exploiting the browser by using it as a vector is the worry. I could create an iframe looking for sharepoint on load, hover, whatever. I could look for localhost, I could try to use your relay, etc.
>tfw my old trick of using whole page translators still works

>>61816621
And all of that can be done with or without an ssh tunnel
