So i got this prism n8 portable pc at a second hand store today. It powers on and the turbo light lights up. the screen looks like it may be burnt out but even an external vga monitor doesnt work. Im going to open it up and see if everything is connected.
Anything i should check or do? Also old tech thread.
Youd get more money if you just sold the keycaps.
Don't bother.

It's about the experience. I don't care if i make 10 bucks, i'd rather have an ancient piece of hardware that I can mess with for a few weeks.

In that case start taking it apart.
Keep the form factor, rewire the keyboard to a raspberry / arduino setup, dump the display for a 7" touchscreen off amazon or something.
Get a a small drone for the rest of the space and you've got yourself a small GCS.
Have fun modding your little helicopter control box, my friend

Forgot to mention you could probably tear apart a old throttlestick or __insert game controller here__ gamecube controller is easily moddable, for starters and is pretty small and comfy.
Oh, thought of something else too.
If controlling the 20$ helicopter is too hard, could opt for the easier and start a RTLSDR antenna box.
You'd probably be able to compact anything you want into this case, after you gutted and raspberry pi.
Here's what that outputs, for example pic related.
But, it can be used to intercept anything. Check if it's legal so you don't get fucked.

No idea what a rtlsdr antenna box is, but it sounds cool.

You typed more saying you don't know instead of researching, or "what is rtlsdr" into any search engine.
Why do you do this to yourself?
Being a vegetable only gets you cut up and discarded.

Ah I guess I wasn't clear, I looked it up and it sounds cool i just dont really know what it does. I mean, maybe i'm just stupid :/
