Legit advice for you, from from somebody who has all the trackers you mentioned.

Ignore AHD. Wait for recruiting on RED and TehC or GGn and jump on it the very minute it goes up. Get on BTN or PTP. Whichever one comes first. If you get on BTN first, use that to get on PTP. Your best chance of getting into HDB comes from PTP's higher class forums so start building your PTP stats immediately, mostly with your seeding size and average. You may not care about HDB, though. Personally, I like HDB because it has a few things not on PTP but I like movies and you may not give a fuck.

Do this and you will be at my level since BTN and PTP have the best invite forums and HDB is an added bonus.

I'm starting to become a data hoarder with private tracker

I keep checking to see if there is a free leech period and when there is, I just download random crap that I might be interested in to build up my collection

after downloading those craps that i might like, if still keep it and seed it in the hopes that it will bring my ratio up

i have 5000 seeding and i dont even like 80% of them but the 1-2% seeds that i get from them adds to my ratio and that is the only reason for me to keep them,

it's starting to become really unhealthy as i am constantly check for shit to bookmark in the event there is a freeleech and i have so much crap it's making me physically sick now

what should i do? should i take a break from all these seedings and come back a month later or what?

I was messing around with ratiomaster and accidentally cheated my ratio on PTP when I was meaning to use it on a different (public) tracker. It doesn't look like I got banned yet but should I message staff and explain the situation and plead for leniency, or should I just wait and hope they don't find out?

Part of it has to do with costs. The cost of running a site increases dramatically as the number of users does, so most sites impose a cap where they feel things are kept at a reasonable level while maintaining a userbase large enough to keep healthy activity going. Usually increases to the user cap are accompanied by changes to server hardware and whatnot. Since there's only so many slots available, it makes sense that they would be a bit picky as for how they'd give those slots out.

Of course cost isn't everything, many trackers intentionally stay below a certain size in order to try to stay under the radar and avoid becoming such a large target. Compare how often public trackers get raided or shut down compared to private ones and this should be a pretty easy concept, it's not that authorities don't know about the private ones, but it simply isn't worth the effort to go after them when they only represent a few thousand users apiece. I think part of the reason WCD eventually got shut down was because they let too many people in, actually.

Well that depends some on the tracker. I wouldn't say most of the "core" trackers really require that much effort to stay in good standing, and it pretty much becomes effortless after you've paid your dues your first couple of weeks. Hell, some of them are fully ratioless and don't even ask that much of you, only that you seed a minimum number of days. But yeah, can't really argue that it's more effort than downloading from public trackers, so obviously if they serve your needs fine right now there's no reason you should feel obligated to put in the extra effort. Private trackers are more about a bit of extra convenience and organization anyway 99% of the time.

The most important part of the interview is the transcode part, what's VBR, what's CBR, what's lossy and what's lossless as well as what you're allowed to upload to RED. Everything else isn't that important and you can actually say you don't remember some things because you don't need to get 100% to pass or prove you're some sort of audio genius.
