Anon, look into the Walmart T-Mobile $30 prepaid plan. It's 5GB, 100 minutes unlimited text. T-Mobile doesn't count YouTube and I think a handful of other streaming sites like Hulu into data; so I rarely find it to be an issue. Though I guess you have to actually be autistic like me and never ever use your phone for calling outside of calling out sick for work or something, otherwise VOIP will eat away your data.

I recently got a phone with a quad-core and it just flies up and down. I just use it for some 3D games here and there, emulators, shitposting with Clover and general tasks. I'm not the type of person to have seven bajillion apps open at a time, I rarely have more than 2 or 3, and that's when I open links here on either browser or Youtube, or leave an emulator running in the background.

For those who have the Moto Z2 (either model), how is it treating you? Verizon's special offer for the Z2 Force isn't gonna last for any longer I'd imagine, and my Turbo is too worn with it's battery for my usage. The sheer amount performance and flexibility offered by the Z2 Force is damn tempting, but I do feel that it'll be overkill and I'll never take advantage of the modularity of the phone outside of battery mods. I'm also looking into the G5S+ as well as the Duraforce Pro, considering I'm more of a mid-range user and go out to the field as being part of the military. Really fucking wish that the conventional Droid line didn't end with the Turbo 2.

I got this thing a couple days ago and it just jumps from thing to thing effortlessly. Hell, it can run some pretty intensive 3d games, on low settings mind you, but they run mostly flawlessly. It's up to time to see how it degrades over time, but from what you say it shouldn't be related to the processors at least.
I was worried when I found out it was just a quadcore, but I don't see how an octacore could improve performance any further. Then again, I've never used a high tier device, even less for highly intensive tasks, so maybe I'm simply not spoiled yet.
To me octacores sound overkill, but what the hell do I know. If you're going to need that much processing power then you might as well use a PC. The one thing I can imagine using it is big emulators like Dolphin or the like. Hell, even Bluestacks tops off at 4 cores, but I don't wanna talk too much shit about things I don't know about so I'll assume I'm being stupid.

As a highly disappointed S8+ owner, don't fucking do it. the battery life sucks (sub-iPhone), TouchWiz is even worse than they say, and they're constantly and aggressively trying to slide you onto the dry dick that is the Sammy ecosystem (oh, and did I mention I've never encountered worse customer support). The ONLY thing it has is external sex appeal via the display (which, by the way, is the most fragile fucking display I've ever encountered and is almost certainly not real Gorilla Glass). I highly wish I had got a Pixel or V20.

It sounds like your best option is the G6 - LG's skin isn't great, but it is pretty lightweight so you get the fluidity and performance bonus in which many companies are so sorely lacking. The battery life isn't as bad as you think either.
