I know nothing about monitors. I need a new one though. What's the best I can get for 350 dollars? 4K seems too much for me, as the monitor would cost as much or more than the dekstop.

There are 4K monitors out for $300. Depends what your plans and hardware are. If you can drive it for whatever you plan to do with it, may be an avenue to look down. Otherwise, eh.

Are they any good though? Ideally, I'd love a 120hz 4k monitor. But those seem to be like 3,000 dollars.
60hz 2K seems more within my price range.
Refresh rate and resolution are the only stats that I understand for monitors. The rest seems like magic.

If you're looking for 2K, you can get a really good 1080p monitor for $300. Yepper.

What about something like 2560×1440?

I'd imagine so, though again you need to have the power to drive them. And I've heard the panels they're using for 1440p have a tendency to be fucked up, so take that into consideration when sourcing and buying.
2K and 4K are cinematic resolutions. 1440p and 1880p are sort of middle children. There are benefits and downsides.

Ordered this monitor refurbished but had to send it back- but it was a really great monitor and I'm waiting on the replacement. Huge, 60hz and 2K for less than 300 dollars.

1080p is 2K. Not sure where it got associated with 1440p.
