I'm making this thread for discussion on the topic of privacy and how can it be achieved (if possible) by normies.
What OS, browsers and search engines are most secure and respect our privacy.
This is not about trying to illegally download software or media, but about basic human right.
It is reported that search engines and social media platforms are obstructing free flow of information by censoring certain ideas (example: conservative views on twitter and youtube). What can we do to protect free speech on Internet.
How can we change public institutions so that they use open source software instead of products of Microsoft.

Take a look over the pihole project. Its provide a network wide ad and tracker block. Great for every device and piece of software where using an adblock is not possible.

You only need anything running 24/7 a linux inside your network. Basic skills with linux should be useful. Im running it on a pi2, feeding it with about 1 million domains. Performance on the pi2 is great and should be enough for dozens if even not hundreds of devices in my network.
