I am very satisfied with them so far. I like being able to switch between headphones and speakers especially since I listen to many different genres of music. When I listen to electronic music that is more bass heavy I enjoy my monitors much more than my headphones.

I only compared them to the M-Audio BX8 D2, which I guess really doesn't count since the adam monitors cost five times as much.

I got them as a gift from my boss who designed them in the 90s. Typical value for them used is around $700-1000. They retailed for $3500 back in the day.

If you're looking for similar stuff, check out Nola. It's pricey, but the higher end models have the dipole midrange tech that these are famous for. Also try to find dahlquist stuff. Dq-10,dq-20,dq-30 and similar.

Hey sorry, I was researching the model. I don't have any personal experience with speakerlab but they're competent kit speakers overall. Seems that model uses horn mids and tweets, it shouldn't be too bad. Depending on price it could be worth it, I would listen to them before buying obviously and check the surrounds and crossover for obvious damage.

Just make sure all the drivers work. Crossover components go bad eventually but it's a very gradual process and not always a guarantee. They could work fine.

It seems like these would be best paired with tube amps or similar considering the sensitivity.

There's a good chance the pots have dried out on those. You can bypass them completely if you can get to the crossover, which is possible if you can remove the woofers, detach the adjustment pots, and put the woofers back in.

It's kind of a pain but I could imagine that's what's causing the problem, as I had similar issues happen with speakers that used adjustable pots.

A pair of these may be a suitable replacement for those cdm 1 tweeters. Seems to fit a lot of other B&W models.

As far as the heresy comparison, I always take that stuff with a grain of salt unless I've done the comparison myself. They're both 3 way horn speakers, and I'd have to listen to them side by side to make a call on them.
