I bet you all drink coffee while installing Gentoo. Whats your favorite machine, which one does the best cofee? What do you think about mine (pic related)? Should i install Gentoo on it?
>>
Any consumer espresso machine with a real operating system is shit.

You don't need a fucking GUI to make espresso, put the money towards a good grinder and pump

Don't waste your money on an espresso machine under $2,000. Buy a $10 French press, a $10 grinder, and a $5 [weed] scale. That's the best coffee you can make at home.

If you drink espresso, don't bother with any of the at-home cheap shit. Unless you have your own burr grinder and a volumetric machine with sufficient pressure and you know how to properly dial in a shot, just go to a coffee shop.

Cold brew iced coffee is the easiest and best bang for buck method - if you have the patience.

Most mr. coffee machines are absolute garbage, get yourself an aeropress/v60 (for single servings) or chemex/french press (for 2-3 servings)

Invest in a scale, goose neck electric kettle, and down the road a burr grinder no matter what your brew method.

I use a Melitta Caffeo Bistro, does its job really well. Had it for about 10 years, only needed maintenance last year. This machine + good beans = winning

I love my moccamaster
>>
My equipment consists of a Baratza Encore, kitchen scale, airtight storage cans, a Cafe Roma, french press pot and a cezve. As far as espresso goes, really any decent pump and burr grinder will do.

The freshness of the coffee itself is the most important factor. People act like roasted coffee beans are some kind of preserve and they're not. That's oil you've liberated in roasting the bean, and it will go rancid.

>>61785415
Moka pots make some decent coffee but it's not espresso. Espresso absolutely requires a high pressure (ie: 15bar) extraction. It's not optional. What you've got in a Moka pot is something all its own.
>>
so im moving into a new apartment soon and need to get a coffee machince

however what i would like to get is one that can essentially make all the major ones so coffee, espresso, latte, and cappuccino. Does such a machine exist that makes high quality drinks for under $1000
>>
>>61789573
They're called superautomatics and anything under $1000 will break down 5 microseconds after the warranty expires.
Never get anything automatic or that uses sensors for anything if you want it to last.
