Tell me about game development

If Dante wrote his Inferno today, game development would be the 10th circle of hell.
>>61777373
idea -> development -> product
>>61777373
Why does he wear the mask?
you wont make it op, stay in white collar segment
>>61777397
More like
idea -> development -> idea changes -> development -> idea changes -> development -> idea changes -> development -> idea changes -> project abandoned
>>61777497
like there are that many ideas in gamedev today. You just stick with genre and common tropes of this genre. Optionally - put a few mini-game machanics on top of it.

haven't played that in a while. is it still a one man job? it was quite nice.
Its not easy

But Duke Nukem For ever got released eventually.
>>61777373
It's Hell.
You should give it a shot :3
>>61777373
I'm doing my first solo 3D project. I'ts way way more work than you think. I love it, but it's gonna take me years to finish if I do everything my self.
>>61777497
I agree, but that's every programming position, ever. Not just gamedev. I work on """enterprise""" applications and it's exactly the same shit.
>>61777497
How hard would it be to make a game with this kind of graphics in C#?
>>61777373
Its fun but it takes fucking ages
My advice, dont quit your job to do it and to keep your ideas simple if your just starting out. Theres a good reason why games from smaller studios dont tend to me MMO's or the likes
>>61777497
Correction
idea -> development -> idea changes -> development -> -> project abandoned -> project brought back to life after a a fantastic idea to save it -> development -> idea reverts back to the original because it was better/you already have all the assets made for it-> development -> idea changes -> project abandoned

why would you use C# to make your graphics?
Seriously though, if your an artist and you can make that kind of art, fairy easy but still very time consuming. If your not, very hard and very time consuming.
