Kotlin just passed Rust and Haskell on the Pypl, and is now more or less tied with Go.
That was really, really quick. Apparently the Android endorsement made it grow Swift-ly.

It's better than Java, and unlike Scala or Clojure it is more or less 100% intercompatible. If Java were depreciated in favour of Kotlin I'd be happy.
