So Win 10 is pretty fast to boot in general.
But what is the fastest achievable boot time?
An SSD obviously has a big impact on this but how much does CPU and memory speeds contribute?
Searching around I found someone bragging with a 15-20 sec boot (pressing the power button to actually being in windows). I get a 20 sec boot on an old Core 2 Duo E8500 so that wasn't impressive in the least.

It's fast to "boot" because it never "shuts down". You cannot power off the botnet. It's always active and always listening.
>>61748780
Yes, well, except turning off fast boot.
>>61748780
true dat
it doesn't shut down normally

Win 10 boots just as "fast" as any other Windows. They just added some hidden hibernation to trick normies.
>win 10 is fast to boot
Kek. I can boot gentoo in 3 seconds.
I consistently get 10 seconds booting W10 from a 7200rpm Seagate HDD

but how long does it take to install?
>>61749282
Nope, boots just as fast after unplugging and replugging.

Yes they did you fucking sperg. If you "Shutdown" Windows 10 it actually goes into a hibernation state so that it boots faster. A "Restart" performs an actual full boot.
>>61750407
you could always do that with hibernation
>>61750219
using hybrid shutdown right?
Otherwise don't lie on the internet kiddo.

There are 4 "boot" modes in Windows:
1. regular boot
2. resuming from hibernation
3. resuming from sleep
4. "fast startup" in W8/10 (aka resuming from partial hibernation or hybrid shutdown)
Only 3 requires some power when "off", but it's also the fastest by far.
"Fast startup" is pretty useless IMO. I can't think of a situation where I'd use it instead of one of the other three modes.
>mfw my win10 now boots longer than 1 minute after I disabled all the """botnet""" stuff I could find (including hybernation)
whatever, I rarely even reboot
Who cares? With good board POST makes up most of the boot time anyway.

This.

idiot

how is hibernation botnet
