>€480.00 for merely 40% as the upfront cost
I don't really own a phone yet, so I am wondering whether this is worth the money. I suppose the cost isn't so bad if its total lifecycle cost is cheaper than owning numerous planned obsolescence phones over several years?
Sort of anxious that if I pass up on this, and this gets manufactured and sells out, it will be a long while before there is a freedom respecting device like this again.

Waste of money

>The Neo900 has a 1 GHz TI OMAP 3730 Cortex-A8 single-core processor (up from a 600 MHz OMAP 3430 chip), 1GB of RAM (up from 256MB), and a 3.5 inch TFT 800 x 480 pixel resistive touchsreen display (about the same as the original, but with support for dual-touch input).
what the fuck

I think this is roughly the same spec as my old laptop which I had from 2005 to 2009, and loved dearly.

ok so you plan to buy a "freedom" respecting phone that you're going to connect to a mobile network where everything you do is going to be spied on.
are you serious? you might as well buy a real smartphone

>be me couple yrs ago
>see lumia 640
>buy it for 110 burgers
>still works fine on this day
why do people waste more than 100burgers for a phone again? and also why a new one so fast? in my entire life i only had like 4 diffrent phones baka age:25yo

I am an owner of the original Nokia N900. The Neo900 is a bad deal famalam. If you want GNU/Linux in your Pocket, just get a UMPC and get a smartphone separately. Cheaper, you can get it today, and much better specs. Also much better software support. Don't get me wrong, the Maemo community is amazing, and I still miss the old N900, but it's just not worth it.

Fair point actually. Just wanted a general purpose computer in my pocket and catch up with the times. I don't really have anyone to contact who is only available through the mobile network.

I'd consider that quite a lot. When did you get your first phone?

Interesting option here, will look into it. Haven't heard of 'UMPC' until now.
