The problem is Google play services, not Android. I have a Nexus 5 with Lineage OS installed that I use as my main phone. It averages around 800MB of RAM usage with a couple of programs open. That's about the same as any modern desktop Linux distro XFCE with a few programs open.

why cant my 2GB phone cache a lot, it uses actively a lot of RAM and there are probably half a gig or something for caching available when it doesnt have anything except settings open meanwhile my desktop uses 1.5GB on loonix with chromium open with few tabs and youtube, steam open and few other small things
