read it and build some projects while learning about algorithms. khan academy has a good course on algorithms, after that you should move onto CLRS.

while it is a good book, I feel like C Programming: A Modern Approach by K. N. King is a lot better for beginners. For some reason, the wiki doesn't have the ebook-dl (.) com link to it.
