I just grabbed it from WUS. I do own the watch on the very left and the one on the very right though.

The Landmaster is just too big.

I just can't decide, I really like the blue color of the mako. Man I'm torn
>>
>>61706817

I know its money, but it's not a lot of money, if you like it choose the common option and go for the mako, but if you want to try something that noone has (well I bet nobody in your circle has seiko skx or makos ) you could go the helm route. In either case if you don't like it just put it on watchexchange on reddit and sell it, you won't lose a lot of money if it's in good condition. Whataver you choose, just do it , $300 won't make you poor. And sorry for the shitty English.

Watches should be below a certain price and rugged, they are to be used and they'll get scratches and get knocked up. No way I'd invest money in the equivalent of having a fetus on my arm I've always got to be aware of and tip toeing around.
It's a tool for me, I'm not a tool for it.
They shouldn't be too big or weigh a ton.
It's my comfort not the watches well being that's the priority.
Am I alone in thinking this?
£50 is the cut off point, any recommendations anyone? Digital preferably.

I'm looking for my first mechanical watch and really like the skx013, what do you think guys is the movement too old/inaccurate to invest today? Also would it fit me well since I'm a 16.5cm/6.5 inch circumference wristlet?
>>
>>61709445
Their dress watches are pretty and decently finished, but the watch overall is well overpriced for the movement it contains. While iwc isnt as bad as folks like panerai, they're part of the trend of making oversized "dress" watches with essentially the same movement as a $600 Hamilton and charging 10-20x as much. As a result they won't get much love here.

That said, their ultra high complications (like their recent astronomical watch) are decent - would love to see them do more of that.

I doubt that's even possible, since they use different movements with different sizes. Also I'd lose the thinness, which make dress watches cool.

>>
>>61713636
Do you know how fucking poor Russia has always been? They literally only have shit because they forced millions of people to make it for them for free. From the Czars to the Soviet Union they did the same exact fucking thing... now they have nothing. the thinly gold plated shit quality stainless was reserved for the commanders aircraft engineers and party leaders
>>
>>61713463
This is actually un-ironically true. The Bolsheviks and party leaders were all Jews. They Killed tens of millions of ethnic Russians, and then engineered the communist revolt and china and are pretty much directly responsible in total for well over 100 million deaths. Not even a /pol tard but this shit actually did happen and it is all documented.

Amphibias are made of stainless since they're built as tools for divers, but you need to remember that chromed brass/alloy is a lot cheaper than machining steel, and a lot more people in the Soviet Union are going to be buying Povedas and Poljots with what little they make.

Real shit though, what about the Jewish purges and forced migrations that Stalin did during his time in power? All these Masonic watches are definitely post WWII.

It is C12 that is converted to C14 in reactors. Article is here:
>However, they are now working to significantly improve efficiency by utilising carbon-14, a radioactive version of carbon, which is generated in graphite blocks used to moderate the reaction in nuclear power plants. Research by academics at Bristol has shown that the radioactive carbon-14 is concentrated at the surface of these blocks, making it possible to process it to remove the majority of the radioactive material. The extracted carbon-14 is then incorporated into a diamond to produce a nuclear-powered battery.

Rather than electric power you could use it to stimulate a luminescent material. Or you could have a luminescent fully lumed face and electric converter on the reverse side.

He has, on occasion, offered good advice. He is also bland, autistic, and an annoying farce. If I ever watch that genre of watch video on YouTube, I prefer people who have strong opinions that are to some degree antithetical to my own. That way I can learn something new. TGV just jerks off whatever and whomever he can with his shitty accent and signet rings.

Superoyster beats the hell out of the stock bracelet and probably most other aftermarket ones too. Don't get PVD stuff it's garbage and it would look ridiculous anyway with a plain steel watch.
>>
>>61721595
lol props for being a faggot. And placing random shitty objects near the watches he is reviewing is probably the most cringe-worthy shit i have ever seen.
>>
>>61721488
For the 007 you can do almost anything, since virtually everything can go with black. However, black PVD straps are generally pretty shitty. Strapcode is probably the way to go if you don't want to use a NATO.

If the watch face had a different colour, you could pull out your color wheel and go full /fa/(implying they wear colors).

Please do not do that.
Shitposting aside, they just look off and I don't know why. Stainless cases look fine on black NATOs, Perlons, and PVD/Silicone straps, but black metal just looks trashy. As for colors, just ask yourself what goes with black and silver, and if you want the strap to pull attention from the watch or not.

What's the deal with these Indian sellers of old Seiko's and shit, legit or what?
>>
>>61721716
NO! Do not fall for the pajeet special! they are crudely cobbled together parts. Don't buy any watch from india or one that looks like one of those poo watches.
>>
>>61721716
Yeah, they're legitimately shit. Probably contaminated with literal shit, too.

There used to be a copy pasta about pajeets dying in a rickshaw accident and their watches getting stolen and sold on ebay, that's the most plausible story I've found for why there's so many truly awful shit condition terribly repainted Seiko 5s coming out of India.
>>
>>61721716
Ask yourself that again, and maybe check the seller's feedback. There's always a chance that they're legit, or are selling shitty quartz movements in Seiko cases. Make sure it's genuine feedback and not "he mke verry good watch ... boss say good thing abt it - Rahj Singh"

Is there a such thing as a comfy metal band?
Leather looks old man, chainlink is too formal and rubber looks casual, but i can't stand the metal band on my seiko anymore.
>>
>>61721830
What seiko do you have? Most comfy style is jubilee from my experience. Though I have heard those expansion ones can be comfy or total hair pullers.
>>
>>61707967
Fuck you man, I know unironically want graphic natos, especially this one, for black watches.
>>
>>61721830
Yes, of course there is. The omega 1125 bracelet & engineer bracelet on my memesplorer are quite comfy.
>>
>>61721830
I've never found any watch uncomfortable, what's wrong with it? I think I have experience from some real shitters to some great bracelets, and almost all of my watches have bracelets because that's what I like. At worst some folded link bracelets might pull a few hairs the first few times you wear them but that goes away.

I got this today but I don't seem to understand the auto illuminiator concept...or perhaps mine is broken.

The first time I turned the auto illum on in a dark room the watch flickered the backlight twice then shut off. Now it doesn't do anything no matter how dark the room or circumstance.

What is this? Did I break it?

Asked this yesterday but is there anything like the guides they have in headphone generals for watches? Also can anyone give any recommendations if I like old 80s Seiko's some of the old USSR stuff (mainly for the hipster/cool that it's a a part a of history type thing) and am a big fan of the Orient star that was posted in this thread.

Am looking for a daily driver that'll be used for uni/parties etc Price wise looking to spend around £200/$225 and am far from afraid of buying used.

Thanks and sorry if this is an obnoxious noob post

People wear Speedmasters and racing chronographs even though they've never gone 15 over the speed limit, why should you be barred from owning a diver if you've never gone deeper than 15 feet? Dive watches are also generally built pretty damn rugged so you could say it's a tool watch.
As for dress codes; don't wear it with a suit (you're not James Bond), and don't put it on a leather strap.

Also generally not following the subdial functions of the original. I kinda think the Giuigaro reissues are just a quick cash-grab from Seiko even if they didn't market the Aliens aspect of them at all. Pic related, these have $5 movements inside.

I generally agree. I really wish it didn't have the date window and I'd prefer an hour counter over the 24 hour dial. Its still a great looking watch though and I'm happy to be gaining money on it.

Probably a G-shock or some sort of digital watch if you really want the most rugged watch possible. If you're not really hammering the shit out of your watch then probably any decent diver would be a good choice, quartz tends to be more shock resistant so maybe some sort of Casio. But honestly I've always hiked with my SKX007 even though it's mechanical and doesn't have any ABC shit or any of that, it's held up perfectly fine.
