>not using superior Qwant search engine
Why should I use it?
>>61680762
better search results than ddg and it got those nice bangs too like !yt and stuff like that
>>61680509
what does this have over a superior search engine
Safari on my iPhone doesn't have an option to set Qwant as a default search engine, so I guess its shit.
>>61680797
searx looks like shit and it loads slowly and is somehow sluggish for me
>>61680811
>not using a windows phone and changing the registry so default internet explorer has ddg and qwant, not just bing and google
>>61680852
Safari does have an option for ddg, and I actually set it to use ddg. Not really because that I am against Google botnet, its just Google is trying to force me into solving captchas every time I search, just because I connect to it through a vpn.
>>61680797
>>61680509
>log in
stop shilling your botnet
>>61680884
oh it's fine then, ddg and qwant are really similar, and also you can use google or startpage through them, just include !g or !sp in you search terms
>>61680797
Disqualified for not working without javashit or working horribly.
>>61680902
You don't have to log in and they don't store data if you don't want them to
>>61680509
Is this yet another search engine like searx or startpage that just pulls google results?
>>61680960
nope, it's more similar to ddg, also the default search engine in Iridium browser, so that's a good point in my book
>>61680509
Why not startpage?
>>61680935
You don't even understand javascript meme, it's not like javascript is good, but as soon as it is not closed source (searx is opensource and self-hosted), it's okay.
>>61680981
Well, if the search results are better than startpage or searx, I'm willing to switch.
>>61680982
you can use startpage if you want, though I find it kinda ugly and a little bit old fashioned. It's a good choice though!
Another con is that it just pulls google results, so it's not really anti botnet, it just uses the botnet for it's own good, so meh
>>61681000
Try it for a few days, you can use startpage too with it just write !sp in the search bar with your terms
>>61680902
The lite version is pretty cool, but serves server side ads so they have to be blocked manually.
>>61680997
Javashit isn't mandatory so html fallback is mandatory.
>>61681037
$0.15 were deposited to your designated shitting street.
>>61681054
Fuck off javashitter. You nigger only saw the login screen because you had javashit enabled. Way to go freedom fighter. Fucking pansy.
>Qwant will wind up like DDG
Tried it. No autocorrect, no smart results where engine shows usefum content on results page, no safe search for when in public places. I will continue on DDG.
>>61681100
It has safe search goy, who cares about autocorrect
>>61680509
Obviously yacy ia the best search engine. Everyone on /g/ should be running a yacy peer.
>>61681211
install gentoo
>>61681100
you're right about that smart result shit thought, that's a con that should be considered before switching
Why should I trust qwant just because they claim it doesn't track you. They don't even have the source code available.
>unironically using a search engine that employs dom cookies
>>61681269
yes that's lame
>>61681006
Basically my only problem with startpage right there. It looks like some middle schooler's web design project. Not even the typeface is good.
>>61680509
Why not just use Google lol
