Avoid Crosley
Are you looking for used or new? Have this infographic.

nice turntables, no roody poo bullshit
Buy one of the newer crosleys, im not joking. They partnered with pro-ject to make a pretty great reasonably priced turntable and it looks better than a regular pro-ject turntable which is all black. I think it comes with an ortofon red cartridge too im not sure.

Amazon link?
not a turn table question, but does anyone have any tape player recommendations?
i cant find shit
Used 80s Technics and Pioneer are gr8, sometimes you can find them pretty cheap, sometimes they need a belt/stylus replacement at worst, which is an easy and cheap fix

get a crosley if you hate your records, those things are trash and will ruin them
>>61666401
Pro-ject designed it. None of the parts are crosley aside from the wood base ans the branding. Your records wont get damaged anymore.

Any high fi brand you can think of, then its good.

There are no good new ones on the market, you'll have to buy used. The best ones use a dual capstan mechanism, which hold the tape in place and can even play cassettes that are missing the pressure pad.

kinda depends what you want. if you want to scratch and dj you need a direct drive turntable, me I have a belt-driven audio technica lp60 which suits my at home listening needs perfectly.
if you had enough I'd say buy an lp120, but if yu go with a lp60 changin the needle to something more HQ is a good idea.
its alos good to make sure you handle vinyl correctly, never touching the grooves, and have a small cleaning kit with a soft-vinyl-cleaning thing, vinyl cleaning fluid, and a small brush. essential for playing old / used / dusty records.
if you wanna hear an example this is a used record I ripped / tagged and uploaded myself, using an audio technica lp60

pro-ject debut, the $249 technics, this rega's $400 offering. bout it, pro-ject debut carbon is the best you'll find before wandering into nut job audiophile land. be prepared to replace that ~$300 stylus once a year or destroy your record collection. I'm still falling, you shouldn't even glimpse down this rabbit hole.

and if you don't like classical, or classic rock, or old shit in general, then just fucking don't.

There's a link to a download of every single song /album posted in the description of each vid.
any comments / critique? are the titles too crowded with the [date genre] tag?
>>61666805
The older ones look decent. Is there any specific one you were looking at?
>>61667359
Just starting out, so anything really. Anything that can let me play modern vinyls in my room.
Any in particular? I'm pretty cheap.

ask /mu/ for purchasing advice. They recommend good stuff. Just don't ask for actual music recommendations.

Any of the standalone turntables is fine, just make sure the cartridge mount is not proprietary, it might be hard to find spare parts for those. P-mount and Standard Mount are the two big standards.

See if you can find a Pioneer kh-8855 or something similar in good state, they usually go cheap and are cool as fuck. The amp on then is very good as well. Basically all premium shit from the early 80s is gr8 and easy to find
This any good?
