Where do I get a 40% with matias quiets

Is it possible to get a vortex core kit? I don't want an ortholinear meme
>>
>>61648058
You'd have to build it yourself
And no. Matias switches have a differet pin arrangement so even if you get a vortex core you cannot desolder the cherry switches and replace them with matias ones. You can build a custom plate then handwire the whole keyboard togather.

Thats because you dont use it much. You probably just scroll a lot, watch movies and consume content.
If you were banging on ABS keycaps for 8hrs every day, they'd look shiny after 6 months.

GMK or not, ABS is shit. And paying $180-200 for a set of ABS keycaps is downright moronic.

Dipshit, it destroys your keycaps. I can take off my 2 year odl caps right now and they look like new. I can get at least 70% of what I paid for them (probably more because it's a set that's sold out).

Who cares? They are worthless now. After 6 months they start looking and feeling like shit. There was a guy on a Facebook local buy and sell group who was selling 10 HP mechanical keyboards from the early 90s for 10 bucks each. They looked in great condition, like they'd been in storage for 20+ years. I kick myself every day for not grabbing them when I had the chance.

I went with an RF 55g after reading many reviews which left me with the impression that the 55g was more strongly liked than the 45g.

I've had it for about two years now, and I have never really become totally accustomed to the stiffness. Last week I finally felt like I could afford another stupidly expensive keyboard, so I ordered a RF 45g. It hasn't arrived yet, but I'm planning to take the 55g to my office since I find the stiffer keys do work well if used strictly for writing (basically emails and letters) as opposed to more general use.

I've also used MX Red, MX Brown, MX Blue and Blucking Spring boards over the years, along with a variety of membrane/rubber dome, and overall I still think Topre is the best.

For me, better desk ergonomics. I like to have my keyboard and mouse/mousepad pretty close together, so the numberpad gets in the way.

I did get a 60% as well for this reason, but ultimately found that anything smaller than TKL didn't give me any more benefit. I use the 60% as a travel keyboard instead now.

No. He's completely delusional. Wood expands and contracts with humidity. And he will NEVER be able to carve out those stems. If he manages to make one after 3+ hrs of carving, I'd be amazed. And then he has to do it for 100+ other keys.

Say he values his labor $10/hour. That means he'd have to charge >$15k of his caps. Who will pay him that?!

Not to mention that his tolerances will be off and some keys will inevitably rub against each other and will drive his users nuts.
Never gonna happen.

Nope. It's just drug money laundering. Someone should report it to Paypal.

There's lots of auctions like that on ebay of ppl selling worthless things for hundreds of dollars.

Literally anything, it doesn't make any difference for games. I play CSGO on buckling springs, cherry blues, alps whites, rubber domes etc. It makes zero difference, keyboards for gaymen is a total meme, unless you're being hindered by 2KRO any keyboard is as good as any other.

Reds are shit for typing which is why people recommend against them.
>>
>>61657295
Everyone's an idiot. Switch type barely matters for gaming or typing, the only effect there is at all is the hysteresis clicky switches get can make double-tapping more difficult. That's it. Other than that, get what you like using.

I've got the TKL version of this, it uses Outemu Blues. They are unironically louder than my Unicomp with Buckling Springs, and my Alps clone keyboard. Easily the loudest keyboard I've ever used, I don't know how they managed it because they are meant to be a Cherry MX clone but are way louder than Cherry MX.

If you are worried about sound don't buy it, it's a brilliant keyboard for the price though, built quality is superb other than the shitty key caps.

>>61657348
What he said. This is some of the most subjective shit in the PC world, if you can go to a store and try a bunch of switches. If they don't have all the keys there at least you'll understand the difference between tactile and clicky for a start.
>>
>>61657586
>How is the noise through closed headphones?
I can hear my buckling springs wearing Peltor Optime 3's and earplugs underneath that. I haven't tried, but given my Outemu's are louder I'd imagine I could hear those too. Given ear defenders are better at blocking out bassier notes and Outemu's are clickier, maybe not, but I dunno.

>How easily can a mic pick them up?
Depends. On a desk mic you're going to piss everyone off, through a headset style mic it's not so bad but you'll still hear it. I use a ModMic 3 and it's very clearly audible through it.

Couldn't find a typing demonstration of them vs buckling springs (everyones go to 'holy shit these are loud' keys), gimme like 10 mins and I'll do one.

For anyone that cares, I just got my RF 45g today.

I'd say I have reached my personal version of keyboard nirvana.

Compared to the 55g, the key actuation is still definite, no sloppy or mushy feeling like there is with regular membrane boards. Even though I almost always bottom out the keys, it still feels very different compared to a regular membrane and I can type more lightly and get more consistent key actuation. When I type on regular membrane boards I tend to miss a lot of keystrokes because I am not bottoming out consistently.

Tactility is still there, although more subtle than the 55g. The bump itself feels fairly similar to MX Brown, but much smoother. The solid build and PBT caps probably help with that, since my MX Brown board has thin ABS caps and no backplate.

Overall I am very happy with this. My only regret is that I bought so many other keyboards over the years before I finally got here.

what's the problem with reds? They're literally the best for every situation.

im looking at cheap keyboards on amazon (usa) and im thinking about trying out a blue switch. I've seen Gateron and Outemu show up a lot, which one of these 2 is best for blue?
>>

Owner of reds and i hate them, was given a k95 from a friend who got the razer meme and i absolutely hate reds, honestly id rather have a razer keyboard, I've bought different switches and desolderd alot of reds and switched them with blues, a brown for fun, and a razer switch i had in the bag for god who knows why (chinks mixed it up )

How many of yall take your keyboard on the go when using a laptop?
>>
>>61662377
General consensus is cherry MX is very close to gateron, different people will tell you different things but cherry is generally considered slightly better.

Outemu is much cheaper than either of those. Gaterons are cheaper than cherry but that's because they're manufactured in china, cutting costs considerably - they're still very good in terms of quality and a worthy switch for an end-game keyboard (not counting alps/topre/other less mainstream stuff). Outemu, in the other hand, are solidly a budget switch.

However, they're a very solid budget switch. If you want a $20 keyboard with blues, you'll have a very good experience with outemus - as opposed to some no-name clone. But I wouldn't really consider outemus for $100 boards - gaterons are the way to go there.

So, yeah, I'll be getting this https://mykeyboard.eu/catalogue/vortex-pok3r-rgb-iso-mx-red-without-keycaps_148/ and the keycaps and then a ton of gateron blues and switch them, I guess. I hope I can sell my gaymer keyboard for 70€ or so to pay the keycaps and switches.

When will people realize that ISO is the best for all?

So the keyboard I have at the moment is a keyboard with kailh red switches, however, from this keyboard, I have found out that I like to bottom out keys, and often push them down with a fair ammount of force, I'd like to upgrade to a keyboard with heavier switches, and clicky switches, so I've determined that cherry green would probably be best.

However, From this I tried looking for a cherry green keyboard, and I am yet to find one for a decent price, however I have come across one on taobao from magicforce - https://world.taobao.com/item/545436519003.htm

My question is, will this keyboard be good, and if anyone here has bought from taobao, what is a good agent?

How do people type like this? I use gat blues (which are supposedly even heavier than cherry) and they feel feather-light when I don't bottom them out. I could probably double the weight and still type comfortably

the keys should be mapped to the equivalent Danish ones. however, you'll be missing the > < key, which has no equivalent on the HHKBJP (it's physically missing).
you'll also be missing that 1/2 key because it's escape.
my guess is that 1/2 has been moved to Yen and > < has been moved to \- (but that's just a guess)
another problem is Alt Gr as both keys just say "Alt" on them
of course, the Japan-specific keys like Kana and the circle keys will not do anything.

Keycaps made of a durable plastic that never shine because of their resistance to human oils. They have a nice texture too. You should always try to get PBT keycaps, they're superior to ABS in every way (except colorways).
