How do I make self-balancing robots?
I know mcu programming (AVR) and basic electronics from college and I need to read up on PID control.
But where do I get the mechanical parts?

Google shopping

I'm in Europe.
>>61647536
have you checked to make sure it's legal to make self-balancing robots?

What? Why not?

he's making fun of EU regulation, ignore the /pol/ tard.
>>61649109
almost everything is illegal in eurpoe
>>61649147
not as illegal as in the land of the freetards

Bump. Want answer.
You could use a raspberry pi and the retards who post those "just got one now what do I do with it" threads would have an answer.
Well actully what would you do with a self-balancing robot?

Just want a hobby.

pick one

Raspbery pi isn't a great choice. the os would get in the way of timely changes to the mechanism.

Windows fag here. Can you explain?
>>61649854
chrt changes the real-time scheduling parameters of a process.
nice changes the regular scheduling priority of a process.
Either would work to elevate real-time tasks above less critical ones, the first better than the second.

Of course arduino is the unnecessary hardware here, not the R-PI with it's fucking HDMI, Ehternet and GPU.

The United States has the largest incarcerated population in the world, both by total and by percentage of the population.

on a fucking robot whose only purpose is to self balance
PIC
>>61647352
mouser and rs and digikey have actuators and stepper motors. So just the usual places?
>>61650159
A GPU is one of the most important things to balance. A misbalanced GPU can cause frame packets to accelerate down the bus and cause frame backlog and/or frame misalignments (can cause tearing).

first go learn about conservation of angular momentum and the relation between angular acceleration and linear acceleration

you also have the largest population in poverty despite being so "rich"
