systemd was jointly created by Lennart from Red Had and some guy from SUSE. The other creator later left to work for RedHat. While Lennart isn't solely responsible for systemd, blaming it on Red Hat or "distro devs" would muddle the responsibility. We need to remember he's the main person in charge of the project.
