Why use uefi anyways?
There should be a comprehensive list of DE/WMs on the bash profile. I've been running window maker and had to exit the script in order to start X with windowmaker

Normies. I bet you can't even load/unload a kernel module by yourselves.

It would actually be a good idea. All browsers right now are shit. Why don't we create an internet browser? Script Blocking, Self-Destructing Cookies, uBlock Origin built in, etc.

Someone posted a picture of it running on OSX. Not sure if it's a mockup.

I switched back to Xubuntu after having some issues with Gentoo. I figured I might as well install this again now that I looked into all the commands and problem solving issues.

a) you have a modern uefi-only computer without csm
or
b) you already have an os installed that boots through uefi

how to modify the install script to make it to use sources instead of binaries from the beginning ? i mean, also importing all the env variables to not break everything with those cflags and the package.use file to not miss any important dependency that could lead into future problems when building from source.

I'm gonna repeat my stance on CloverOS: I'm not going to link it outside of chans. Ideally, it shouldn't get popular.
It's very easy to roll your own distro livecd using the livecd_build.sh script, so one can do that if he wishes.
>>61655957
Why should I use CloverOs?
>>61667150
this
>>61668168
Easy to install, fast, minimal, and pretty reliable. It's also great for laptops in terms of power consumption, compared to other distros that use systemD.

All of these wallpapers with incomplete renders trigger my autism. Please stop it, anon. If part of the image is cut off, redraw it or don't use it. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

>>61670832
so many good candidates have so many cutoff edges. Sucks that artists do that, since they probably did not intend for them to be used as a wallpaper
is it possible to start the GnuPG agent daemon before any desktop environment, like with OpenRC? if not how do i start it in the default desktop environment?
>>61672587
you can run sudo rc-update add gnupgd default to start it. Look up the gentoo wiki cheat sheet for more OpenRC commands.
How to trust your binaries repo? Im somehow new to the linux world and don't know exactly how to trust a repo. In major distros you have a great userbase and generally a serious team being the maintainers of different distros, giving it the sense of a renown and since many eyes are behind analyzing any malicious activity.
>>61675269
You build the repo yourself

Is there any interest in CloverOS becoming dbus-free much like how it's systemd-free and pulse-free?
Well, it looks like adding -dbus to /etc/portage/make.conf doesn't change all that much. Might as well.
>>61676258
What's wrong with dbus? Is this the latest meme?
>>61676671
Nothing wrong, it's just middleware.
>>61674613
I don't think 'gnupgd' is the name of the daemon service. Does anyone know the exact name to use? I am not even sure if it's compatible with openrc.

You could rungpg-agent --daemonon boot with something like this.
echo "gpg-agent --daemon" > /etc/local.d/boot.start
rc-update add local
>>61679506

lol

Thanks. That should work. i would gues that i would have to make a .stop file that terminates the daemon when shutdown?
>>61679506

>>61679617
I can understand why the maintainer doesn't want to spend the time to compile for 32-bit, but UEFI support in the install script should only be a few lines unless something is drastically broken.
>>61680622
I'm getting to both of those. 32-bit will be soonâ„¢

Let's compare CloverOS and TempleOS:
- no 32-bit version, 64-bit only
- ends in OS
Coincidence? I think not.
Does sys-apps/smartmontools comes with smartd? I can't seem to find it even though i have this package installed.
