Could maybe get local IP, but that's nothing. Only way they'd get somebody's actual IP is to call their ISP and impersonate some sort of authority, if they can manage that. If facebook instant messages are peer to peer you could log the packets but I doubt it works that way. Facebook probably has fuckhuge servers dedicated solely to instant messaging so the security risks from a p2p setup would far outweigh the cost of handling the traffic themselves on such a large scale. I used to do this to mess with people on xbox live though
