Turning them off in this menu does nothing. I turn them off, click “Save Changes”, and when I return to this menu, they are still on.

However, if I turn on the “Windows Firewall” service and go to this menu, they are set to “off”.

Sounds like "ISP modem" is a common gateway (modem/router combo). You either want to disable it's route function and run everything through the n600 (option a) or set the n600 in AP mode for option b. You could leave them both as fully functioning routers, but that would mildly fuck over whoever was behind the n600

I am planning to switch to linux but want to keep windows as well.

If I get an Evo now, considering its faster, Should I:

1) Leave windows on the 256GB, partition the drive, and also put Linux on it, even tho its worse performing than 850 Evo.

2) Shift windows to the 500GB drive, then install Linux on it. Keep 256GB drive to install other things (leave it as NTFS or partition it half ext4?)

I am looking to get a new laptop... I was watching a review for an Acer Aspire E15...

The E15 has a i5 7100u, 4GB DDR4, 1TB HDD... The review looked at performance and boot time... In the video, it took the E15 almost 2 minutes to restart and a minute and a half to cold boot... And it lagged hard with multiple tabs open...

My current laptop is ~5 years old, has an i3 3217u, 4GB of DDR3, and a 500gb HDD... It boots in seconds... It doesn't lag at all with multiple tabs open...

Why was the E15's review performance so bad compared to my old ass laptop? Do those people suck at reviews? Did they not delete all the shitware that comes installed on it and not disabled all the meaningless stuff on boot?

My current laptop is dying and I need a cheap replacement asap.

My BT headset's BT isn't working. I can turn it on, and the start-up sound is there and I can put it on pairing mode but my other devices can't pair up with it. The indicator light saying the BT has been turned on doesn't turn off (it should) which means something is wrong with the BT.

How much is a benchmark really worth? I just got a new phone. Before I bought it, I checked the benchmarks online and it had a very respectable 150k on antutu. h.264 has hardware decode on everything nowadays including the cheapest lowest cost smartphones that exist on the market, VP9 support may be part of the Android spec but it's not part of the hardware spec - the Snapdragon and Mediatek SoCs that power most smartphones nowadays don't have VP9 hardware decode capability so while it can be played back using software decoding that just means more power usage.

We're never really going to see VP9 hardware decoding support on smartphone and mobile devices because h.265 is already moving in and modern SoCs already support that, the latest SoCs like the Snapdragon 820 and newer even support 10-bit h.265.

VP9 is a has been, it might technically offer better quality to some degrees and very slightly smaller files but it's already dead in the water because the industry itself wants h.265 and that's where the developmental focus is.

AV1 will be around in several years and then the focus will shift to that when the time comes.

Used to be a pretty straight-forward process for be; access the router control panel via a browser and open sesame, but my ISP forced me to upgrade my modem to this weird pseudo-router modem with its own gateway, and as a result, it's now impossible to open ports.

but it will only run at 1333mhz even with XMP
