Assuming something vaguely bash-like, here's a sloppy pseudocode-type prototype:

for ((int i=0; i < 10000; i++)) {
if [[ -ne $i]] then
echo $i
fi
}

I think the for loop syntax is actually zsh specific but you should be able to google it, and the "not exists" if flag, to actually make this work in bash or whatever.

Then you can e.g. pipe it into a file (add
#!/bin/bash
to the top, save into a file, chmod +x, then ./myfile > missing.txt) if you want

put that on a .sh file, execute
chmod +x
on this file and execute it with :
 ./script.sh path/to/directory/

you need to specify the / at the end of the path. It will generate a file with the list of missing directories

However, if I turn on the β€œWindows Firewall” service and go to this menu, they are set to β€œoff”.

bash syntax is really retarded. tweak it a little bit to fit your need, you need to specify the path and number of directories to check as arguments.

Sounds like "ISP modem" is a common gateway (modem/router combo). You either want to disable it's route function and run everything through the n600 (option a) or set the n600 in AP mode for option b. You could leave them both as fully functioning routers, but that would mildly fuck over whoever was behind the n600
>>

it didn't at first. Since I didn't have enough power sata, i grabbed one from my old PC. that's the one in the pic that doesnt say SATA plugged into the psu. I fucked up and didn't get an 850 Evo when I build my PC years ago, also need more space..

I am planning to switch to linux but want to keep windows as well.

If I get an Evo now, considering its faster, Should I:

1) Leave windows on the 256GB, partition the drive, and also put Linux on it, even tho its worse performing than 850 Evo.

2) Shift windows to the 500GB drive, then install Linux on it. Keep 256GB drive to install other things (leave it as NTFS or partition it half ext4?)

3) Put linux on the 500GB drive, and just keep them separate, change boot order.

even though 960 is faster its smaller and I use it for win cuz I am already hooked to archlinux and my virtual machines need space

but I would recommend ignoring some idea of speed of ssd and focusing on size only
whichever you think you will use more, and make use of that space, give it the larger drive

I am looking to get a new laptop... I was watching a review for an Acer Aspire E15...

The E15 has a i5 7100u, 4GB DDR4, 1TB HDD... The review looked at performance and boot time... In the video, it took the E15 almost 2 minutes to restart and a minute and a half to cold boot... And it lagged hard with multiple tabs open...

My current laptop is ~5 years old, has an i3 3217u, 4GB of DDR3, and a 500gb HDD... It boots in seconds... It doesn't lag at all with multiple tabs open...

Why was the E15's review performance so bad compared to my old ass laptop? Do those people suck at reviews? Did they not delete all the shitware that comes installed on it and not disabled all the meaningless stuff on boot?

My current laptop is dying and I need a cheap replacement asap.

c-can someone explain PCI lanes to me?

A CPU has 16 lanes but a chipset has one too?

How do lanes work? Do you just have 16 lanes with a certain CPU and when you get PCI expansions it just uses maybe 2 or 4 of those lanes at a time?

Does a southbridge come with lanes to so all together you have more than just 16?

Your CPU has a certain number broken out via the socket and that is the limit.
PCI has address lines and data lines so you can have more than one device on
the same data lines and daisy chain controllers off of that but it wont get
you more bandwidth.

If my CPU comes with 16 lanes does that just flat out mean I can have two 8-lane things or four 4-lane things and that's all it straight-up means
what does pic related mean. It uses 16-slot but only uses 4 lanes?

Devices don't use lanes exclusively. You can have a bunch on the same lane and if they aren't all using it at the same time it is fine.
Compare it to eg x1 is 10mbit ethernet, x8 is 100mbit ethernet and x16 is 1gbit ethernet. The controller is the router.

Oh so it just wear-levels the available "16-lane" bandwidth and it doesnt matter how you have your stuff configured you'll always get 16-lanes of speed?

So there's the physical PCI slot availability and there's the actual capped speed that the CPU is capable of?

So if I wanted to I can have a 16-lane CPU with like four x8 lane gpus on it they all get used but the maximum capacity is just 16-lanes with each lane having it's own PCI 3 speed and the protocol just handles all of them

Because h.264 support is fucking universal nowadays and not everything can or will decode VP9, you ignorant bastard.

h.264 has hardware decode on everything nowadays including the cheapest lowest cost smartphones that exist on the market, VP9 support may be part of the Android spec but it's not part of the hardware spec - the Snapdragon and Mediatek SoCs that power most smartphones nowadays don't have VP9 hardware decode capability so while it can be played back using software decoding that just means more power usage.

We're never really going to see VP9 hardware decoding support on smartphone and mobile devices because h.265 is already moving in and modern SoCs already support that, the latest SoCs like the Snapdragon 820 and newer even support 10-bit h.265.

VP9 is a has been, it might technically offer better quality to some degrees and very slightly smaller files but it's already dead in the water because the industry itself wants h.265 and that's where the developmental focus is.

AV1 will be around in several years and then the focus will shift to that when the time comes.

Am I missing something? Are the firmwares stripped down enough that they don't have to worry about a DROWN or Dirty COW?

How do i set up specific drives to form a RAID?

If only.

How does that output imply it was re-encoded? Try running ffmpeg -i input.mp3 -acodec copy shitter.mp3 and comparing the output.

What is a good modem?
Not router, but modem, coaxial to WLAN.
>>
>>61634676
the one your ISP gives you because it's unlikely that you will get any other to work
>>
>>61634676

Wanna know some bullshit? If you use your own modem with Comcast, they will NEVER come fix your internet, no matter what happens, because customer service will blame your modem and tell you to fuck off.

It's some grand ol' bullshit

Long story short, I'm transfering all my stuff over from my droid turbo 2 to my new (to me) note 4.
Well, I was planning on it, as for some reason, my backup isn't showing up on the setup screen, even though I've verified on the droid turbo 2.

I'm extremely retarded with tech shit, so the simpler the explanation the better

What's a normal transfer speed for USB 2 and HDD? I've been transferign some movies to a USB stick and I get around 5 MB/s. What the fuck is wrong with my laptop?
>>
>>61634670

Change majors, and/or drop the class.
>>
>>61634774
Is your USB 2.0? then 1-5MB/s speeds are fine.
Is it A USB 3.0 on a USB 2.0 slot? then you should reach 25-30MB/s which is USB 2.0 limit.
>>
>>61634774

I remember getting anywhere between 20-30MB/s back in the day, for huge files to my external. Lots of small files where the data stream has to stop between files? Like single digits or something like that

Can anyone explain to me why some devices, when plugged into your PC, install drivers automatically. But other devices, you have to download and install drivers from a manufacturer website.

I want to say the former is "plug and play" technology, but I might be mistaking that for something else.

is there a /g/ suggestion list for webdev resources? like learning js, css, html, etc.

No, if you put the modules in the correct slots. They are usually coloured, so for example if your slots are black-blue-black-blue put ram in as 2-1-2-1

Are the cooling solutions on AMD reference cards loud and are they any good?

Specifically the liquid cooling solutions on the Fury X?
I've tried finding videos of it, but not many people tested the card, and the noise comparison videos are pretty shit because they have a huge amount of background noise, or they aren't comparing two or more cards.

I was thinking of getting a liquid cooled Vega card instead of waiting for the partner cards with better cooling, but if it's very loud then I won't bother.

pls respond

I'm trying to forward ports to open a server. Used to be a pretty straight-forward process for be; access the router control panel via a browser and open sesame, but my ISP forced me to upgrade my modem to this weird pseudo-router modem with its own gateway, and as a result, it's now impossible to open ports.

Is there any way to fix this? I tried opening them on the modem control panel but no luck. All the solutions I've looked up are different.

ffmpeg -loop 1 -r 1 -t 9:99 -i in.jpg -i in.mp3 -map 0:0 -map 1:0 -c:v libvpx -c:a libvorbis -b:a 192k -threads 8 out.webm

Something like that. Not you MUST set the duration. In the above it's 9:99. There are better ways but you obviously aren't interested in learning so...

Just found out my ancient 2600K system was running the ddr3 at 1/2 speed.
original 2133mhz kit was a 2x 4gb
i added another 2 identical Dims for 16Gb
but it will only run at 1333mhz even with XMP

if i go back to 2x 4gb will it run at 2133?
Pic is the old build, removing the ram is hard as there is a block over it

Is it possible to encrypt something such that how to decrypt it is publicly known, but no one can tweak it then re-encrypt it without it being identifiable to whoever decrypts it again?

I'm trying to figure out a safe way to distribute updates for a peer-to-peer program over itself.
Due to strange technical limitations, a peer must receive all information for the update from one peer.
