Same, lmao
I'm a brainlet.
It started off so extremely basic, like addition or some shit, that I got distracted and gave up, twice

I also found myself confused reading about half-way through the first chapter, but it was clearer after I re-read the preceding sections a second time. After that, I felt able to grasp everything on the first reading.
I haven't finished the book. I stopped working through it part way through Chapter 3. I have very limited time to study (due to kids) and decided that I needed to focus on things more immediately applicable to my work for the medium-term future. I might pick it up again later this year.
Didn't finish.
I grew up and switched to C and assembly.
>tfw wanna read it
>tfw busy with irl shit
fug, it's sitting right here on my desk
Nah but I watched the old and new lectures though.

I read it.
Not a complete waste of time but not that great either.
It's a bit old-school in it's teaching approach (no shit, the book is like from Ancient Greece) which is very linear and not friendly (though it tries to be).
And although, sometimes it's strangely inspiring - in the end you won't get that much useful information from it.

What do I learn from it?

>go read the practice of programming by pike instead

About 200 pages in but keep getting sidetracked. I'm not a compSci major (chemistry) but I've thoroughly enjoyed the book so far. One of the few academic textbooks I've read where every sentence has a purpose, and the quality of exercises is fantastic.
Trying to get onto a Computer science postgraduate program so any other good recommendations would be appreciated.
