If anything, I wish Apple would start seriously competing with Microsoft instead of continuing to cater to a niche market. Competition would make both of them get their acts together really quick in order to outdo one another. And it's the customers who would benefit from that competition. Microsoft would be forced to actually try, instead of pumping out hot garbage every few years.

No. It can't happen and won't happen. Apple is currently the best technology available that money can buy. Every product, every services is craft with the customers best interests in mind. The quality of this premium experience cannot be reproduced in any of these open source Linux distros or Windows packages. Especially Linux, as nothing really works in itself.

I own a T430, I'm very happy with it
feels good, you have nipple, good 900p screen, 3 gen i5 with good enough iGPU

but then....suddenly....my uncle gift me his old 2008 macbook with a problem on the screen

I replaced the flat cable, added ram, changed hard drive.......and now, when I go to bed to surf some shit on the web, I bring the macbook....
why?
because navigation is fucking superior with that trackpad, the screen is GOOD, IPS, even if it's 720p! and the system is always fast, fluid and overall good

I also use it for music application, I'm a Logic pro fag (guitar prodution/mixing/mastering) and logic is not only god tier for recording and editing, but also provides 65gb of FREE audio plugins and sounds.

Apple's OS is very very very good. the machine itself is overpriced, yes, but OSx is the best
I use windows only for gaming.

Good I guess? There's comparable computers that don't lack all my necessary ports. The 2015 Macbook is the peak for now but I'll still be buying anything but Apple since I don't want to congratulate them.
