Its mostly bullshit. It'll look a bit worse than a 1080p monitor at the same physical size, but scalers are pretty good these days. The benefits of more screen real estate and higher refresh rates easily outweigh sticking with 1080.

What you should do is get a 4k 24 inch monitor and run it at 1080 while gaming if your games cannot git gud fps at 4k.

I just got a dell 2417dg on Monday and 1080p shit like YouTube looks fine too me. It's the same specs as what your IP is, but TN panel. It was the cheapest 2k with high refresh I could find, $510cad

Agreed. 1440 is just a temporary fad because gpu and cpu tech right now can get muh 144hz on that but not 4k. In a couple years 4k will be the new 1080 and 1440 will be a nuisance, a hassle even. Look at TV's. There's not a single 1440 display at any store because noone cares for that resolution outside of gaming on a pc. Xbox isn't selling units to play high hz on 1440 because they know it's not marketable either. Cable broadcasts will never bother with 1440, they will develop 4k and stagnate there for a while

I have a 21.5" 1080p, so smol.

I could have gotten the same monitor @ 23.6" for €55 more but I couldn't for that price and the cursor is huge on those, you can't win.
