Log files on windows are total shit. No standard place for them, can't tail them with native tools, can't search and parse them with native tools. No one chooses windows over Linux for application servers unless they don't know Linux or the software vendor doesn't support it.

Its the reason why I host a linux guest on a windows host, sadly. The dumbass GPU on my i7 isnt wired in in this laptop so I can't do gpu passthrough.
But honestly now that every new PC has 16gb or more RAM theres no reason to not just run both OSes.

It is a lot easier to change the date/time stamp on files using linux/unix with the 'touch' command.

The creator was a big macfag so most of Lain's computers where based on Mac designs. Also Copland was the code name for an unreleased version of Mac OS. Realistically though, Lain probably would've used Linux.
