probably works fine, but I don't think that system will ever look coherent in that case, unless you can mount the bigger rad on the font, and the 120mm rad on the rear exhaust. Your cable management skills look about as good as they can be with that hardware setup.

I have a 150psi compressor.

Long story short there's a fault with the board and I have been meaning to swap it (or reflow) for about six months now. I haven't gotten around to it with how many computers there are to keep running. Add in that I live in a notoriously dusty city (pic related) and yeah...

Like I said before though, I do keep the coolers clean and it runs pretty well.
>>
>>61567341

>inb4 >swiftech
>>
>>61567412
>have you tried filters
Yeah awhile back. They clogged up fast enough it wasn't worth it. There is about 200-300 computers to keep running per site so my personal computer never really gets much attention. Soon though. I'm starting to pull the 771 and 775 servers out and the new ones shouldn't need as much attention.

>>61567503
>X5650
Any overclocks or is it locked down? I put an X5680 in that dusty monstrosity not too long ago. They're good CPUs.
>>
>>61567576
this board _can_ overclock them via BCLK adjustments, but it's tied to the memory strap so it's not as fun as a regular X58 board, which I used to have.

also, obviously no voltage control options, so you can't really fly too high above stock. limited to 95W CPUs too, so no X5690's for me - the added multi is great on a semi-locked board like this.

>>61567634
That's more or less why I have an X5680 and not an X5650. This X58 doesn't support them properly so it won't POST past 150mhz bclk with a Xeon. I had an i7-920 at 200mhz prior to this so a X5650 at 3ghz wouldn't have been worth the swap.

Main issue for me now is it won't POST if I enable manual control of timings and I can't turn the memory multiplier up either.
>>
>>61567713
memory is really fiddly on these first gen Nehalems, can't boot past 120MHz with 18 DIMMs as the memory controller just can't train memory that quickly.

can't even lower my memory strap to ~1066MHz...

Tell me about it lol. I had the same memory running 2000mhz CL9, put three more sticks in and the thing wouldn't boot anymore. Ended up putting almost 1.8v in, it booted, turned it back to the settings it was before and it all worked fine.

I'll be swapping this for a dual socket board soon but I'll probably only run 12 DIMMs. Know how temperamental they can get past that.
>>
>>61565713
>hot air rises
yeah but not in a fucking phemto second that top fan is still pulling in cold air
not that anon btw

the whole "hot air rises" argument for case airflow is getting out of hand. Yes hot air does rise but not enough on it's own when it's not exactly hot it's just warm. Shit the hottest I felt my GPU air get is "starting car AC in the summer" hot. It's about as warm as swift fart, not exactly going to rise very fast or far before just becoming cold anyway
