I don't give two shits about performance to be honest, I just want to get rid of 2nd mechanical drive in my laptop to keep gaymes and multimedia files. It was 480GB, new, and I've paid $90 for it.

SK Hynix SSDs perform at the same rate any fancy Samsung drive would, and they're usually 30% cheaper.
If you're buying in the 500GB range, most things are the same price. It actually looks like SKs aren't really in stock in most places anyway. Kingston or Samsung would be my choices at that price range.
