I'm confident again in the ability of Mozilla to make an actually good browser. In the past I used to put up with it only to avoid the Chrome botnet but it's actually pleasant to use now. I heard Nightly is even better too, but i can't be arsed to try it right now, especially since the improvements will eventually trickle down to the stable release.
Still, I don't think they will ever recover their old marketshare. Back in last decade, they built their reputation largely because Internet Explorer was so shit that even the most tech illiterate was willing to go out and search for an alternative. While now Chrome might be a mediocre product and a bloated walled garden(not even mentioning the botnet because the average user doesn't really care about that) that is losing its only advantage in raw speed, but it's decent enough that a normalfag won't bother to switch browsers. Hell, it has built a reputation as a fast browser and people simply accept it as a fact, and install it over their default browser, even if it actually isn't much faster than Firefox or even Edge now, not to the point the human eye can actually notice. The only thing that would make Firefox recover marketshare is Chrome becoming complete shit as opposed to simply a mediocre browser.

I finally switched to chrome a month or so ago. The "firefox is slow" thing isn't just a meme, chrome was much more responsive in startup and general use. It's a much better experience.
