Now that Ryzen is shaping up to be a game-changer, should I invest in a new gayman rig? I'm currently rocking a i7-7700K daily driver, but I'm thinking that 8-core would be more VR Ready. My other option is to bite the bullet and pony up for a X299 prosumer rig, but I'd like to hear /g/'s opinions before I pull the trigger. I also use linix but I'm not a code artisan by any means.

Just pulled the trigger on my Ryzen system a few days ago.

I'm currently rocking a i5 2500k that isn't doing it for me anymore. I decided to bite the bullet and pony up for this sweet new prebuilt rig that has some good airflow too.
