>bought new laptop
>the new laptop feel is already fading
How do I make this feeling last other than cleaning it often?

keep upgrading to a new laptop every yea goy
swap the OS every month or so
i think the /tpg/ dorks get a different feel from buying a used cum stained thinkpad from ebay, but also satisfying and maybe even longer lasting:
>i only paid $150 for this
>it's already got some chips and scratches
>i don't have to baby it
>this sandy bridge cpu is old but it runs all my dumb programs fine
>already years behind so why lose sleep about [recent cpu] vs [marginal cpu update 6 months from now]
vs
>this laptop is new and good
>but tomorrow it will be a little less new
*bong noises* think about it, maaaaan

This. I bought my ThinkPad used and while I love it, there's no particular gain to be had in babying it and keeping it forever. Of course, I will keep it forever, whether intact or not, but I won't hesitate to replace it, given half a chance. And that'll only cost me another 200

get a new laptop
or just get a memepad, there might be something to what >>61528719 posted

This. I just a T440P, swapped the RAM and HDD for 8GB and an SSD and ended up with a completely capable 1080p laptop for <£350.
Well, I'm getting a new battery. Current one is shit, so make it £400. Still worth it.

Don't allow yourself to touch it for a week.

Get some air freshener that has that new computer smell. I seem to recall some website had a big catalog of meme scents like that.

This is the exact same thinking I have. Not a Thinkpad, but still a nice old SB business laptop. Works well, has some really neat practical features you just won't find on new stuff, and was cheap af and don't have to worry about breaking it.

buy a new one, you dunce
