They would have had to make it a lot bigger for the logo to be a reasonable size and still look decent enclosed within a circle. When the apple logo is put in a tight circle it looks pretty awkward. Also my point to the other guy about not being able to print a logo on top of the sensor still stands.

Having the fingerprint sensor on the back and trying to keep the logo in a familiar place is a problem without a great solution IMO. Once you get too many elements on the back that you can't move around due to the phones design legacy, things start looking really cluttered.
