>not running LFS with full disk encryption
>being a distro cuck
I thought you /g/uys were loonix wizard
Alright. Pls gibe wallpaper
Maybe some day when I'm feeling like doing such a project. Meanwhile my Arch installations serve me just as well as ever.
>I compiled binutils therefore im magically better

there you go
>>61519601
arch is a disappointment, their install media didn't update to kernel 4.12 which has drivers for my wifi adapter. my next project is to make an install media
>>61519696
I don't even seek the bleeding edge, I just stuck with Arch for the wiki, AUR and forcing me to have a general "under the hood" picture of my OS which is a great middle ground for something like Debian and LFS.

Thanks anon.
>>61519760
wow u use arch you mus be soooo smarrrrt
>>61519770
Exactly _not_. If I was super smart about operating systems already I'd just run something that didn't require any unnecessary work to maintain like Fedora or if I really still wanted that level of bragging rights, LFS.
LFS is just reading a book and doing what it says
>>61520126
full disk encryption isn't part of the book neither is booting with efistub and so on
>>61520165
wow so you had to google how to do full disk encryption? you must be sososoooooo smart
>>61520179
the hard part was generating a working initramfs, not like you would know that
>>61519559
Neo-/g/ is even unable to install Gentoo nowadays, they consider Gentoo as a meme instead of a workforce, and you're talking about LFS. Neo-/g/ are posers who are trying to mimic pros writing hello-worlds in C and Haskell and use Arch because it hasn't an automatic installer.
>>61520234
Ehh, I'm pretty certain anyone who can install Arch will have zero problems installing Gentoo. The only real requisite for either of these two distros is the ability to read. I don't want to offend you,but you sound as though you fit your own definition of Neo-/g/.
>>61520308
I'm not, because I don't invent some silly excuses because I can manage my time and I can use a professional flexible distro instead of a constructor for amateurs.
>>61520308
I never managed to install Arch in a way that was functional. Gentoo, on the other hand, I could have up and running in just a few hours.
I presently don't use either because I have a job and I don't like bullshit getting in the way of my work.
This isn't hard, you're not special.
>>61519559
Stop using my same wallpaper.
>>61520225
plenty of information on doing full disk encryption and generating an initramfs for it manually, you have to manually do an initramfs on gentoo if you're not using genkernel/dracut
>>61520308
>Ehh, I'm pretty certain anyone who can install Arch will have zero problems installing Gentoo.
to add to this anybody that has installed a distro using a netinst iso will be able to do arch/gentoo and they'll only need the guide for the initial installation, post install from a netinst is usually very similar to an arch/gentoo experience
