i am planning on putting LED strips around the my room, along the ceiling. I am looking at some channels, but do they diffuse the light enough to be worth it?
Also, I'm in an apartment and I do not want to put holes into the ceiling to hold these. Would a hefty about of 3M tape work, or some alternate solution?

The computer on the left is my "file server" (24TB total but only 12TB usable because mirrored drives). I want to try GNU/Linux but the non-existant documentation of full disk encryption is worrisome. Windows 10 Pro with buttlocker and veracrypt just works desu.

My computers are in another room, I drilled a hole through the wall and feeded the cables through it. This has 100% deleted heat and noise in my room.

I'm gonna try installing Ubuntu and play around with VeraCrypt to see if it's possible to achieve full disk encryption on the system and storage drives. File containers worked when I tested it in a virtual machine.

I know about LUKS but it's a CLI program and you need to manually configure a bunch of shit. If only it had a GUI (inb4 Ubuntu has home folder encryption during install)

But I will definitely read up on the things you mentioned, especially the parity thing

I just like old furniture. I can go to Ikea or somewhere else and spend alot of money on some boring furniture I don't like that isn't even real wood most of the time (unless I spend big $$$) or I can have some fun thrifting around, finding stuff I want and for pretty cheap too. Sorry for potato picture. Got an HP ProDesk G1 for $60 on LetGo with an i5 4560 so I finally have a desktop computer. I had to butcher the case to squeeze in the GPU and I'm using the Dell power brick and EXP GDC (disconnected) I originally used as an eGPU to power the RX 460, but I'm just glad to have a somewhat real rig again. Now I can use my T430 as a laptop as intended.

I also impulse bought a Samsung 27" curved monitor. Biggest monitor I've ever had and I love it so far.

i build the table myself so i actually really appreciate it anon, it took about 3 days solid sawing timber and sanding and painting but yeah, i think it turned out pretty good

Monitor arms arriving today hopefully.

On a sidenote, can someone recomend me a cheap amp/stereo/whatever thing I could use to replace that bulky shitty stereo receiver on the ground where my pc is currently sitting on top of? Each speaker is 70w 8ohms, which I use at half volume at best, and I don't know anything about audio. Is it doable? I just wanted something small and cheap that could sit on my desk, possibly with a headphone jack as well, but not required.

it's a JVC, not a PVM unfortunately. Still, it's a decent CRT with an RGB input card in it. I dabble in old games Burning Force is a favourite. I'm not particularly good at the older shmups though I do enjoy a few of them mainly Ikaruga / Radiant Silvergun. Tried to take some photos for you kinda hard, CRT's are a pain to photograph.

Other than minor wear on the finish where my wrists rest it's still going strong. I love it because I can take it apart really easily for moves, leaving the bed and a bookshelf my dad made for me as the only things I need a truck for.

It would be hard to fry an x200 while flashing the BIOS chip. Just make sure that you make a backup of the stock firmware first, like all the guides suggest.

I did break my IPS screen while installing a LED backlight upgrade though. I had to go back to the stock screen.
