Many USB keyboards are backwards compatible with PS/2, some might support NKRO when you use them over PS/2 instead of USB.

You can probably beat a man to death with one of those. Giant metal plate hidden under the plastic. I'm not fond on how spot on you have to be on the keys though.

ive got the same. Best ive ever had after the white microsoft one

>>61503079
The NMB-made ones are pretty good once cleaned, but even those have inconsistencies. They've used different dome colors depending on the factory run and each has a different tactility.

Rubber dome boards are built down to a price and to a first approximation are all the same. Just buy whatever's cheapest.

Nope, but the one in your pic looks cute.

Nonsense. It's not some clickity mechanical, but it's a whole lot less mushy than OP's Dell f.e.

I got this IBM SK8820 for 7 fucking bucks (shipping included).

For a rubberdome it has excellent feedback and precision and for 7 bucks it's a fucking steal.
Literally no better choice available at that pricepoint.

It's basically slightly less expensive audiophilia.
Everything checks - the diminishing returns, the signalling, the crippling autism as well as always being on the verge of spending more time taking pics of your "setup" and infinitely reposting them online than actually utilizing it.

The keypress feeling on these is a perfect mix of precision and squishyness which kind of makes it addictive to type on (and may make you horny too for some reason)
>>
>>61507137
I've got a Lenovo SK8815, and can confirm that it has a nice balance of squish and pop.

However, there's not enough bracing in the center of the board, around the space bar. I had to open the shell up and add in a few things to firm it up. No more bounce in the middle.

Some rubberdomes are kinda more springy than some mechanic switches which makes your fingers bounce off from key to key faster which may explain your experience

dayum, you must be one of those who really gives it to them hard.
I kinda crawl off the keyboard and don't smash them keys so I didn't notice that problem yet but it's cool if you could modify it to make it better. I appreciate it when people fix stuff on their own.

>rubberdome
Rubberdome implies that the conductive element is placed on the rubber itself.
Topre is capacitive and you don't have to depress it fully to make contact. They use rubber as a tactile element only.
>>
>>61509159
I DID give it to this thing pretty hard, because my old KB had so slowly gone to shit I didn't realize I was pounding on it.

Got this thing, and it's all perky. Does not require that kind of force. I braced it up back when I was still slamming it. Now that I'm used to these comfy domes, it just takes a firm tap.

Also I lost it at that Worf because I'm watching DS9 right now.
>>
>>61503103
No, I use this KB with my Mac and it's rather shit, but I just can't be arsed to replace it right now as I don't have to use it often. It's probably okay if you're coming from a laptop.

>>61507137
This or the Lelnovo rebrand are probably the best way to go if you want rubber done.

I agree. They won't even listen when I drone on for hours and hours about my model train set.
>>
>>61503098
I threw that one away a couple of months ago. There was nothing wrong with it but it takes too much effort to press a key down. I bought it for $5 at a Goodwill.
>>
>>61503098
I didn't liked the keys texture.

>No, I use this KB with my Mac and it's rather shit
That's one of the best keyboards in existence. Are you sure you're not thinking about the Magic Keyboard? Because that one really does suck ass.
>>
>>61507513
Tenkeyless is acceptable
What I really hate is that happy hacker shit. Who the fuck pays $200+ for a keyboard that doesn't even have dedicated arrow keys?
>>
>>61508148
Use the deskthority wiki, search for the model you find and all the ones that are BTC dome with slider will have MX Mount sliders.
>>
>>61507971
Mechanical keyboards are too loud and the keys have too long of travel. I type 10 wpm faster on "bad" keyboards.
>>
>>61507667
thats a good one but unfortunately the USB ports on the back are friggin 1.0. Good enough for a mouse or logitech dongle but total dogshit for thumb drives.
>>
>>61503079
Are there usb keyboards that look like this? I love the look but most if the ones I can find are expensive and mechanical.
>>
>>61513429
You could just get that keyboard and spend a few dollars on a PS/2 to USB adapter. I'm using one for my PS/2 trackball right now

Holy crap, I have the same keyboard! When I started using it, I used to miss having no spot to rest my little finger when not holding shift - but I quickly adjusted to having it on the edge.

It's quite minimal, but it works really well and doesn't take too much desk space.
>>
>>61507137
