thunderbird, but if I had a mac I'd probably use Mail.app. It can't be worse than Outlook. I also used KMail back when I was on KDE, and I really liked it.

KMail and thunderbird both had addon APIs, and I never had them crash from native addons. Outlook (when I last used it) did this frequently (although it might have been that the corporate AV addon was shit).
