firefox is still big in Germany, literally every PC has it installed, usually chrome is installed too, but mostly firefox is used out of being used to it since childhood because everyone and their schools laptop had it installed.

i remember first installing firefox to download porn with the downloadhelper extension. it was the best thing with the browser extensions that made a lot of things easily possible until they decided to make it the shitty version of chrome.

I just switched back to Firefox from Chrome. But yeah, when every google site has a "This works better in Chrome" banner, the normie hordes are never going to use Firefox.

I used Mozilla when I was first computing
Then went to Firefox when it was hot shit
Then when chrome came out it became my main browser but I still used Firefox one site (it was porn, I'd start to load a page with lots of thumbnails and then hit ESC so each thumbnail was just a small box. Then when I opened the image in a new tab I'd get the excitement of not knowing what the image would be, really heigthed the whole experience)
Chrome eventually started to display unloaded images as a box rather then rending nothing and I dropped Firefox completely.

That's my personal story of how Firefox died. Thank you for reading.

People do what they are told to do. They heard so many "don't use IE" stories. They also had so many misleading Chrome popups from Google. Everyone views a web page from Google literally every day, what with google.com, youtube and so on. And while the transition away from IE was going on, Firefox was insanely slow resource hog. So the tech "review" sites claimed Chrome was the Best Browser based on some idiotic criteria like JS speed and memory usage, literally something no one cared about until the tech "review" sites decided it was important.

Long and short : MS did their utmost to make people hate IE. Google won the marketing war with Mozilla. We are now fucked.

Google will put Chrome in a $10 "computer" and say that it is used more often than Firefox.

That's also why IE+edge are so high, they're included with every copy of windows, so even if someone never opens them a single time and only runs firefox, they count that as +1 IE/edge user.

I use safari maybe once every 3 days for a couple seconds then close it on my phone, but I use firefox a thousand times as long, yet again it would consider them the same market share since I own both products.

Which company will cater to my worldview?
I want a browser that is relatively fast, low in memory usage, supports addons, and is open source. Everything else is just extra.

Not only did it fuck the UI it also broke a bunch of add ons even if you used Classic Theme Restorer.

Now couple that with the fact that Firefox JS performance at the time was much worse than Chrome I just dropped Firefox.

Firefox really fucked up somewhere. Its not even the lack of integration with Google search and products, which I suppose you can install extensions for.
Firefox is customisable to a stupid fucking degree that nobody ever asked for. For a browser that mainstreamed tabbed browsing, its amazing how they now suck the most at it. Why the fuck do I need to spend 30 mins installing extensions and configuring tab options. Just make it intuitive and with half decent default settings already in place.
