What else is there?

>>

What happened with that spying thing mozilla is implementing? Is it in effect on the newest version? There were ways to try to disable it but I don't remember what it was.
>>
>>61461844
I don't got the links but it is active, for now I just blocked google analytics the very least.
Buuuut... it has to go, no denying that.
There is a thread here somewhere describing it
>>
>>61461949
I scanned through the archive and unless I missed it, I didn't see anything about it or the steps required to remedy it.
>>
I don't. I switched to Chromium month ago.
>>
>>61461840
Firefox is a botnet you dunce. You can't escape the bot net, even if you don't have a computer you're apart of the bot net. Enjoy your life as a part of the botnet.
>>
>>61461734
What is the problem? Mozilla is overhauling all the internals to make it competitive with chrome and while the extensions will not be as powerful, it seems that Mozilla is working on extending the webextensions API (in a way chrome can implement it too if they want) and making easier to deliver cross-browser add-ons. Also being high level it theoretically should fix the problem of add-on breakage each time there's an important change in the internals of the browser.
>>
>>61461734
it's kinda fast. i like it better than chrome.
>>
>>61461994
All it's about a chain of trust. Of course as long you use any piece of software made by other people there's no 100% guarantee that it's not screwing you. That's why regardless of being open or closed source it's important to check the reputation of the companies or entities (and individuals if applicable).
>>
>>61461734
Why are you syill posting this thread every day?
Everyone knows moz://a screwed up completely and almost everyone stopped using it because of that.
Some people still use it because its far from the worst browser
So why do we have to get 30 of these threads EVERY DAY AAAAAAAAAAARRRGHHH
>>
>>61462021
>make firecucks a shitty chrome clone
why would anyone still use it when it has no redeeming features over chromium?
>>

I'm talking about performance but if that's your opinion go on.

It was here earlier today actually, I hate to say this lol, but it was some discussion on r*ddit in that thread from a week ago. People are incurious all over, my self included

Copypasta:

ALL of the anti-Firefox shills can go fuck themselves in this thread, every last one of you. Easy way to disable:

"Firefox users who don't use Get Add-ons can disable the functionality in the following way:

1. Load about:config?filter=extensions.webservice.discoverURL
2. Double-click on the preference, and remove all characters so that the value is blank.
3. Restart Firefox."

It's that simple...

I bet NONE of these "concerned" privacy advocates (aka shills) even have a librebooted thinkpad and are freaking out over a STUPID little script that does very little to affect their privacy and can be disabled with two clicks, while at the same time their proprietary BIOS and the Intel ME/AMD PSP are LITERALLY raping their system from top to bottom and selling their data and privacy to the highest bidder along with every single five eyes ALPHABET agency out there. Fuck all of you shills, go to hell.
>>
>>61462241
It has its issues.

I switched from Firefox because of slowness issues. However I might switch back once Firefox fully transitions itself to newer addon front. Hopefully that will mean its speed will be improved. That was my main issue.
>>
>>61462406
What versions of Firefox is this necessary to do on? Just 54?
>>
>>61462415
It was already improved earlier this year
>>
>>61462430
Not sure, but if your version has that option in about:config I would just do it. I think I read Firefox say that if you turn on Always Send Do Not Track in preferences it should take care of it. I would do that as well just to be safe.
>>
>>61462502
I'm on 53.03 and it has that option, so I did as you suggested for both that and the track request setting. Thanks.

OMMG there's no choice!
>>

Vivaldi is proprietary. Waterfox and IceCat are just Firefox with some minor tweaks. When it switches so will they. Pale Meme is probably the best of the lot, and even it is slow and has shit for addons compared to vanilla firefox.

Do you guys notice any differences in user experience when running this instead of Chrome (my previous browser)? And how secure is this browser with respect to committed bugged code and browser updates?

Why?

I'm using beta right now with only webextensions trying to ease myself in and it's a mess. I might install ER when 57 is released and wait a year for things to get usable.
