What would happen if Amazon made a browser, /g/?
There would be a browser made by Amazon.
>>61459374
Prime ads fucking everywhere.
You could browse the internet with Amazon's browser
>>61459374
It'd be better than neetrunner
>Big Bezos is watching you
>>61459374
Same with their app store; only kindle users would use it.
>>61459374
Its called Silk i think, and its shit
Short term: no ads with prime subscription
Longer term: non-amazon-partnered websites load slower unless user has a prime subscription

Why would anything "happen"? Nothing "happened" when they tried to enter the smartphone market, other than a lot of laughter.
>>61459374
it would be absolute garbage. just like any "fire" device. just like amazon's website. amazon is only successful because of their fast shipping and wide array of products from trusted vendors (or themselves). their software is garbage because they treat their devs like trash.
a side bar that pops out to sell you stuff, or a button just for recommend purchases
>>61459466
>lagdroid
>>61459467
kek I want to see this happen so bad.
>>61459401
>>61459432
underrated posts
>>61459374
It'd be a chromium reskin sending keywords to amazon so that visiting their site gives more specified ad choices. Amazon doesn't really need to do this since they can pay Alphabet and Facebook to have the relevant information anyway.
>>61459374
Amazon made a browser. Silk.
>>61459374
Web pages take 3 times longer to load unless you pay $99 a year
>>61459374
data mining youve never seen before, constant asking to sign in to amazon and prime, collects you searches to recommend shit to you on amazon
I'd continue using Firefox
but they already do
>>61459374
it would fail to deliver
>>61463578
>Blink
Unsurprising.
You mean Firefox?
>>61459374
It'd be alright as long as non-Prime plebs can't use it
>>61459374
Siri botnet integration.
Microphone on at all times.
Possibly webcam too.
>>61463910
>Siri
I meant Alexa.
it would be amazon (amazin', get it???).
>>61463951
fucka you, amazon employee!
They did
The closest we will get to an amazon browser the the lovely Ubuntu default app: Amazon. There may be lots of *STORIES* that it collects data, but those are false. It is just so convenient to have a shortcut to amazon that opens in a browser, you can't even access anywhere else.
>>61459374
We would hate it.
>>61459374
it would just be yet another chromium/blink/v8 shit fork that no one would really use.
>>61463578
>Amazon says "a thread of silk is an invisible yet incredibly strong connection between two different things", and thus calls the browser Amazon Silk as it is the connection between Kindle Fire and Amazon's EC2 servers.
fucking kek
>>61459374
People would be able to use it.
>>61459374
>Here's some other gay furry porn that your browsing history suggests you may like.
Chrome would be working at McDonald's
>>61459374
for being one of the giant conglomerates, their website design is complete fucking ass
when is amazon going to have a website that isn't a pain in the ass to browse through?
>>61459432
you could browse amazon on amazon's browser
>>61459374
full botnet browser
>>61466949
Jesus Christ I'm so suprised I've never seen more complaints about this
>Want to buy a duffel bag on the back to school sale
>Everest bags on sale
>Instead of having a normal listing where you can pick color and size
>Every
>Single
>Size & Color
>Is a new listing
>Kinda like this
>Click the seller's name hoping to find more from the seller (E.g. I clicked "From : Everest" on an Everest bag because I wanted to see all the duffel bags)
>It literally just searches the whole store for "Everest" and gets me the movie Everest
>>61459374
nothing. they're still cancer in ubuntu.
