It's noticable, but I still wouldn't recommend it.

I've got an xps 13 with a 4k screen. It's gorgeous, but everything has to be scaled to be usable and some programs don't work well with scaling. It also eats the battery a lot faster. I don't see a point in more than 1440p for a laptop.

4k is like 4 1080 screens at once. A good way to waste battery. You won't notice the difference unless you're looking for it. good luck playing 4k games. 4k video will fill your hard drive

Yes 1080p is fine panel quality is fine important get something that gets bright and has good contrast. That zenbook isn't great on that front try the xps 13

OP, at the distance you use it, for a normal use, ofc, there is not need currently for 4k.
It is only useful for homecinema and graphists.

1080 for 15 inch is okayish, for 13 is fine and perfect for 11. ~180ppi is required for good fonts without noticeable pixelisation. Anything higher than that is unreasonable waste of battery power.

XPS 13 2in1 user here, the QHD+ screen is just fucking nice. most programs that I use on it scale well, and I do not game on it.
