If you bought it from amazon they were giving you a £70 refund and you got to keep the card.

If you didn't like that then you could return it free of charge and get a full refund.

I returned my 970 to newegg after the debacle and put that money towards a new GPU. Though, I only got equivalent store credit, not money back.
