yeah the dongle was a mistake, but you can see their reasoning.
It was their attempt at segratating different markets (people who need a really fast and large raid array) VS keep costs down (make one raid controller with a cheap dongle)
What is even worse is if you wait to be able to boot off of that raid, it *has* to be intel SSDs!
