Now that ETH is finally crashing, where can I get a cheap GPU? And which model to choose?

>still making a shitload of free internet money
OP, unless it goes to 0 mining is still profitable. I got all my RX480 and RX580 really fucking cheap and got my money back at least 3 times over. Best part is that I will be selling the RX480 for almost 400 bucks, twice what I paid.

Nowhere.
The entry level miners who panicked at a 20% drop in a volitile market are putting their video cards up on ebay in an effort to get out and make some of their money back. But they're still not "cheap". They're still like a hundred bucks above MSRP.
This gives the miners who stuck with it more GPUs to buy, which takes them away from the retail markets, but that doesn't mean retail prices are gonna spike down. Stock takes time to resupply, and there are still people buying them well above MSRP and it'll stay that way until it's reached a point where they can actually keep their shelves full, so to speak.

So, IOW, the answer is buy an overpriced GPU and use it to mine in order to offeset the extra expense?

The answer, same as always, is to wait. Wait as long as you can stand to, and then wait some more. Wait for Pascal, then wait for Vega, then wait for the price to drop.
Or you could buy a used card off ebay that's been under load 24/7 and has had its bios flashed so it's no longer under warranty. Or pay 1080 prices for a 1060 from a retail vendor.
