For fucks sake I need help.
Setting up new router and it wont detect internet. I know the Lan line is good as it works on old router and when directly connected to PC.
In fact, I've ran it from the old router to the new router, and the new router picks up the internet from it.
Im lost. I really don't want to use two routers as it kind of defeats the purpose. If someone can help or knows someone that can help, please let me know. Thanks.

Routers are inherently shit devices. Build yourself a custom firewall.
Your ISP has there internet tied to a specific mac address. Adjust your routers mac address from default settings to the same one as the old router.
This will work. I'm 100% positive

This. This guy gets it. I have had this issue with Time Warner or Spectrum or whatever the fuck they call themselves. It's a MAC address issue.

Can't you just reset the modem instead?

If at ISP level they are looking for a specific MAC it won't matter
I think changing your ip/mac address too often can trigger this sort of thing
So to op
>shut down modem, router
>wait 10 minutes
>power on new router
>copy old router MAC and spoof it on new router
>reboot new router
>plugin modem
