These are the top paid apps in the Windows 10 Store. It's worse than the Gnome Software repository that comes with Ubuntu. I am embarrassed to be a Windows user.

Well, so why are you? There's literally no reason to use it, and the benefits of switch are many.

you can sell GPLed software, as long as you release the source to anyone who bought it and wants the source

Why? VLC just werkz!

I am using a TV as a monitor, and I don't want to fuck with drivers. I didn't even know it had speakers on Ubuntu because the OS didn't recognize them.

Krita Windows App Store (paid)
You will get automatic updates when new versions of Krita come out. Some of the money (70%) will go to the Krita foundation which will be used for fixing bugs and adding features. You will need to have Windows 10 for the store to work with your computer.

i would pay 10 bucks to have MS Paint in linux. it's my favorite, kolourpaint doesn't come close.

>Some of the money (70%)
I have a feeling that the remaining 30% goes to Microsoft Jews. No thanks, I'd rather install it manually and donate money by myself.

Keep in mind nobody uses the windows store.

"top apps" probably have like 30 purchases each.

It is pretty bad. I check it every week or so, and it's not getting much better. At least the game side is improving somewhat, and you don't have to fuck with steam if you don't want to. But, the downloads are slow for every third person. At least some companies will clone games, or put their actual mobile games in the Windows store too. For actual software, I keep checking, almost none of the software I use is in the store, even if they did the bare minimum and wrapped the .exe and threw it up there. I'd rather get updates through the store, but no one cares.
>>
>>61396967
jesus! how dumb are close source users? why pay for somthing thats not only free but open source? this is fucking epic
>>
>>61403640
Fwiw, you can get photoshop elements through the Windows 10 store, and you get more licensees than you do if you get it through adobe and want to install it on multiple computers (3 vs 5).

There is also inkscape, krita, anki, a bunch of clash of clans clones, bloons series, wunderlist, lastpass, and a few others. I'm mostly surprised people haven't been wrapping their apps and putting them in the store. It's still mostly mobile focused, despite mobile not being a focus for Microsoft.

Krita does the wrapping thing, you just get updates through the store, otherwise its the same app.

Oddly enough, office and vs code, you also can't get on the store.

It's free as in freedom.
Read the fucking gnu license.
>>
>>61403742
Free as in you can view and modify the source, compile it yourself if you want, etc etc

Download it off GitHub = $0
Download it off Win10 = $11
You get full rights to do whatever the fuck you want either way

Honestly I give them props, that is a nice way to do it
