Quick thread, but I'm new to programming and trying to start with python. Not sure if I should learn 2.7 or 3? Any advice /g/?
Go for 3. Fuck faggots who don't use the latest version of things.

They're almost identical, it doesn't matter. The biggest difference you will notice is in python 3 print is a function.

Just asking because a lot of threads say don't bother with python 3 because it's "dead"

What company do you work for?
They should tell you which ones they use.

Python 2.7.13 has had broken Unicode since Dec 2016, make sure your using 2.7.12 which has plenty of it's own bugs. Should be fixed mid 2017 so soon.

At least 3.6.1 works.
last bump, thanks for the replies /g/
You definitely shouldn't just pick one and stick with it. Then you might learn something.

the only legitimate reason to stick with 2 is when you have to work with py2 embeded interpreter that cant be upgraded. Otherwise, 3

WinPython 3.6.1
