>2GB RAM (general responsiveness, I assume it has more to do with the CPU, but I don't know anything about smartphones)

>>
>>61352740
no experience of that particular model but i think its a faggot move from sony to put camera features behind drm keys that are removed if you unlock the bootloader. sony cameras are nice but they turn into potatoes without the keys unless you do hax.
>>
>>61352840
nvm i got it, fuck yes. i just held the homescreen until "wallpapers/widgets/themes" buttons came up and chose settings which had the option to turn it off.
>>
>>61352740
Pros
-great build quality
-stock android 7.0 nougat rom, no bloat
-decent performance
-good camera for the price
-expandable storage
-USB-C, NFC, FM radio

Cons
-display is only 720p
-average battery life
-Mediatek SoC means no custom ROMs
-no fingerprint reader (this might be a pro for some)

I'd recommend it especially if you're after a midrange phone with a good camera. If camera isn't your main priority there's probably better phones available.

what are the risks of staying with an older OS?

I was thinking about purchasing the high end phone of 2014 now for a good deal. I guess they're not supported solely for making people buy a newer smartphone, right? I mean specs wise why wouldn't a Galaxy S4 be able to handle the latest version of Android?

I'm not sure if acquiring that is gonna be so bad, sounds like FUD spread by shills who just want me to get conned into the yearly purchase scheme.

It's not that much weaker than the SD625 in a Moto G5+, the SD430 scores about 44k in Antutu and SD625 ~63k. I don't think you'd notice that much of a difference outside games. Of course if performance matter to you more than fast updates then you're probably better off with another phone.

I still have Redmi Note 1 that /g/ recommended years ago. I am very thankful to /g/ ... good phone for me when I was a poorfag ... I like it but I have more money now and could afford something better... I'm looking for a phone that

- should be as big as possible (I have huge hands)

- doesn't have "round corners" (not like Samsung-design... more sony xperia style or some HTC... I also like HTC One design)

- I don't care about camera quality

- battery quality is not super important,... as long as it lasts 1 day with normal use it's ok

- very important: no gay software like chinese or anything at all... must be as close to Stock Android as possible

- extra security features welcome (maybe fingerprint? not sure if that is a good feature?)

- support for NFC a plus

I will buy directly without a monthly plan

The included earbuds would shit on your headphones, but only sound wise. They're the most comfortable earbuds I have ever used but I never wear earbuds so don't take my opinion for granted.

You won't be looking for new headphones if you get this phone. But if you want to plug your phone into a pair of speakers then it could get frustrating if you don't have the adapter with you.

Anyone used the Zuk Z2 pro?
I need to decide whether I want it or go full cheap and get the redmi note 4.
At the price, its hard to go wrong with the note4, but I think it would be a bit bigger than is comfortable and I don't really like rear placed buttons.
The z2 pro is probably the perfect size and the button on the front looks a lot more convenient and has that neat swipe thing, but I don't think I really need the 6 gigs of ram and the 625 is probably plenty powerful, and the battery life is way less and it costs 70% more
From just looking at the specs I'm pretty torn, and I can't really go try them both out like I normally would in this situation.

How's the battery life?
>>
So is only Motorola's always on display such shit? Or it's all pretty much the same and I just fucking hate always on display period? So glad my new OP5 has normal notification led.

No more botnet than any other android phone
>>
>>61368389
It comes with all google tracking enabled by default, other phones don't cuck you like that so easily.
>>
>>61368389
>Google now enabled by default

Do I fix my battery and back panel myself on my S7 Edge? It would make a fun project and also i dont want to pay Samsung or rando store down the street $200
>>
>>61368400
>>61368409
Don't be delusional, as long as your phone has Google services you're part of the botnet.
>>
>>61350526
test
>>
>>61368419
that's like saying since they have to amputate your finger might as well go for the whole arm
>>
>>61368419
>he didn't flash his phone with ungoogled lineage OS
I feel bad for you
>>
>>61368438
No, it's like saying you're not gay if you only suck dicks. You either are part of the botnet or you aren't, there is no in-between. Turning some setting off isn't going to change that.

>>61368489
That's my point, the only way to avoid the botnet is to remove Google completely.
>>
I just purchased an LG V20 64GB for $379.99 to replace my Nexus 6P 64GB.

did I do gud?

V10 is much better in terms of durability

You mean the V10 with the defective soldering on the motherboard, that'll eventually cause components to come loose and make the phone bootloop?
>>
>>61368924
if it's still under warranty all you have to do is send it to LG and they'll fix it. I'd rather do that, with an already sturdy phone, than use thinner, easier to break phone with no grippy surface on the back. Not to mention the v10 has stainless steel sides which is what accounts for just how sturdy the phone is. If you drop the v20 the backplate will always pop off and so will the battery. and I like using my phones without bulky cases so the v10 is perfect for me.

Cheapest phone with NFC and USB-C and decent hardware?
Would that be the Xiaomi Mi 5?
What if I wanted microSD?
>>
Is there any modern smartphone with a 6" display that isn't a Nexus 6?
>>
After years of talking shit about TouchWiz, I finally bought an S8+ and I'm pretty embarrassed to admit I really like it so far.

I went into the shop fully planning on getting a pixel, but the design is so fucking underwhelming :(

I wish the Xiaomi Mi Mix was a bit more available.
>>
>>61350526
Xposed for nougat when????????
>>
>>61366764
Retarded to say the least. Also, modular phones have never had success in all of mobile history.
>>
Does xiaomi really lock bootloaders? Am I going to have to fiddle around with some long-wait workaround before I can use the phone that I paid money for the way I want?
>>
>>61351938

you're forgetting Huawei P9

Jesus fucking christ why does it still have fat bezels? Are the designers fat tumblrinas or something?

Honor 6X or Redmi Note 4X? Don't care about camera. Which is easier to tinker with?

So, what are the issues of OP5 besides the jelly display?
>>
i really hope the curved sides die out, prefer straight sides as they feel nice when holding them not too mention gives a more solid feel IMO
>>
>>61370207
If you think curved sides are bad, try curved screen on a narrow display like >>61369937

4gb+ram/128gb+rom

Removable Battery
Budget of $300 at most

Suggest me something senpais
>>
>>61369698
Do they even make phones without NFC anymore? I've never heard of a phone without it for a couple years now.
>>
>>61370172
They'll release another one in like 3 months with no new features
>>
>>61370263
thats what i also dont get, your losing proper screen space for what? just another usless quickbar
>>
>>61369981
I don't know anon.Obvious issues with Touchass aside, the screen doesn't feel right. I might've been happier with a S8+ but I fell for the "easier to use one handed" meme.
>>
>>61370358
Xiaomi's redmi line does not have NFC.

Is HTC a chinkphone, or not because it's not mainland Chinese?
>>
Just bought the S8+ Exynos version using my entire paycheck. I now need to survive on $30 for 2 weeks. Did I do it right /g/?
>>
>>61369967
Redmi is easier to tinker with, but get the Note 4 Global if you need B4 or B20 LTE.
>>
>>61370491
Everything is a chinkphone.
>>
>>61370517
Yes. Natural selection at its finest.

Anyone know anything about the Bluboo S1?

(spoiler)I bought one from GB(/spoiler)

No, just apply for the locking permission and unlock officially
>>
>>61370817
Yeah but doesn't that applying process take like a month?
>>
>>61370648
The name Bluboo tells you all you need to know

>>61370826
No, it only takes a few hours usually. You don't even need to have the phone to request the unlocking permission so it is recommended to request it as soon as you order the phone, just to be on the safe side.
>>
Hey /spg/, real retarded question here. My phone installs games to the internal memory which is now almost entirely full to the point I can't update anything.
How do I make my phone install games to the MicroSD card?
>>
LG V20 or the ZTE Axon 7?

I need good audio quality, and would like to be able to do a simple root and put LineageOS on it later.

I'm on the same 4"-still-not-shit quest as this anon. Have been searching for several months now. The Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Prime is actually the best bet right now. Samsung might release a 2017 version of it though, idk. The vendors device name is SM-J106X/DS, where X stands for the sub model, e.g F for the EU/RUS version and H for an international version w/o 4G but availability on amazon. DS is optional and means dualism, obviously. Bare in mind though, that the J106 is 10.8mm thick and only features an 800*480 TFT display with 256k colors, far below Samsung's standards. In the 4" segment, it has the lowest bezel sizes and best camera, RAM combination.

Its chinkshit, the good chinkshit.
